July 17, 2011 21:57:50 Grumpy Ernst Keidel I too enjoyed the parade. It is not often that one can see Clydesdales pulling a wagon across THE intersection. Plus, we got to wave to Masonville\'s own Neita, riding at the front of her float. My wife and I met a lot of people who inquired about our niece Namkyung, who had been living with us for the past three and a half years. Nammy graduated high school among the top 20 students and has returned to Seoul, South Korea, 19 days ago.
July 17, 2011 18:01:26 Masonville Resident fantastic parade !!! Church display was great and all that went on a school was lots of fun.
July 14, 2011 23:43:03 Craig DuMond I dont think there will be any problem with a portable grill. See you there!!!
July 14, 2011 20:26:52 bertimouse Question for Bicentennial News: Will there be a BBQ Grill to use at the Picnic? We'll be bringing food for 6: cooked onions&peppers with nice rolls but would like to BBQ some sausages while there? Should we bring our own portable grill? Thanks.
July 14, 2011 09:00:30 Taxpayer II WOW...based on some of the posts on this site you would think that Butts Concrete is the only taxpayer in the Town!!! All to often politicians grant special favors, etc. for large businesses, campaign donors, etc. in the form of contracts, awards etc. As one of the other taxpayers in Masonville (believe it or not there is more than one) I am happy the Town Board is looking out for ALL of us!
July 13, 2011 23:44:30 Les Here here Observer!Well said."Now! Now! Children!! Play nice or off to bed with you with no dessert!!" (Observer)And a little NUFF said too! Happy 200th Bicentennial!
July 13, 2011 23:30:39 Les Masonville Resident; are you for real?I do not know for 100% but wouldn't you think RCL is the initials of one of the few people who post on this site that are not hiding behind a screen name? You were rude to RCL on three posts,it must be nice to know you can walk around town and know who she is and not have to worry who your two face is.I would like to know what STFU stands for? Is it STFU: Shut the Freak Up (polite form) STFU: Southern Tenant Farmers' Union: STFU: Star Trek Federation University: STFU: Scrawny Two-Faced Underling, Sir, That's Freakin Ugly (polite form) Samurai Training Finished Unsuccessfully Show Them Fury Unleashed?
July 13, 2011 21:14:23 Observer Perhaps things could have been done better for the Bicentennial but probably mistakes and omissions were made. But think of it this way we can start planning our quadrigenti anniversary and get everything right!!
July 13, 2011 20:52:11 Observer Now! Now! Children!! Play nice or off to bed with you with no dessert!!
July 13, 2011 20:09:22 Masonville Resident @ RCL - like you identify your self? STFU
July 13, 2011 09:04:58 taxpayer RCL why not go to celebration and do what you had planned and enjoy? Only a very few may know the issue and everyone else will not have any idea and you enjoy the day. If you were displaying something you will enjoy the day.
July 13, 2011 08:23:32 TX Saw an xtra large Bear by Beal Pond rd last wknd, this thing was huge!!
July 12, 2011 22:56:52 spectator I do stand by my comments on the war memorial. Why the sudden interest in something nobody wanted?
July 12, 2011 22:53:33 spectator Craig DuMond; If what you have stated in your last posts is true, then I apologize for my comments. I didn't know the whole situation and was only going on from Kathy Butts Lent's post. If your post is true than I think Ms.Lent owes a apology also. You wrote "I understand as Supervisor I will always be blamed for everything that is wrong in this Town." YOU BET bubby that's just Masonville, its not our fault LOL.
July 12, 2011 20:56:12 Town Of Masonville Web Master Anyone taking pictures on the 16th of the town doings and would like to see them on the official Masonville Web site send them to the address on the left. I will ask that they be in .jpeg format and not more than 6 pictures attached as an attachment to an E-Mail. Please identify what each picture is. Plus your name to identify the photographer. Put "BICENT" in the subject line of the E-mail. --- I will make a page on the official site to display pictures.
July 12, 2011 20:35:17 a resident of town obviously some one thinks you should have your say and then end the subject and not make any more of a fool of yourself. Let it go and enjoy the town you say you so much love. 200 years will only happen once and we all should enjoy the day.
July 12, 2011 18:39:22 RCL Masonville Resident, if you have something to say why not identify yourself with your name and not a screen name. What are you hiding from?
July 12, 2011 18:11:32 Masonville Resident Quit whining and get on with life.
July 12, 2011 17:40:12 Robin Church Little About the Bicentennial signs, I volunteered to make 5 signs; 1 for the church lawn and 1 for each sign coming into town. I completed the lawn sign and put it up and then completed the other signs to put up, but before I could get the signs up, someone put the signs that are there now. The signs I had made were bright and eye catching with information on them. I had them up on Wednesday night last week and was asked to take mine down and put the others back on Friday. I received a screaming and threatening call on Friday morning from the Town Historian and then a call from Mr. Dumond asking me to do this. I was told to go ahead and put mine up in place of the other signs at a meeting on Wednesday night; when the signs were discussed no one knew who had done the signs. My intent was never to hurt someone's feelings, but mine have been. Since I don't feel what my family or myself has done for this town is appreciated, myself and family have decided not to participate in the Bicentennial. So, this is why there are no bright, eye catching and informational signs.
July 12, 2011 10:30:57 Masonville Resident You did the right thing Mr. DuMond. It's a shame that Butts Concrete will not step up to the plate and admit they missed the train on this one! Please continue to watch the way our money is spent!
July 12, 2011 08:09:20 Craig DuMond PS: When these issues (over who got the work) came about I, as well as the Engineer in charge of the Project, personally called Ms. Lent to discuss same. As said previously, we have and will continue to use local contractors when and where possible.
July 12, 2011 07:13:16 Craig DuMond Honesty and loyalty are core beliefs of mine and I am troubled by the posts on this message board. However, I understand as Supervisor I will always be blamed for everything that is wrong in this Town, it goes with the position. What I posted earlier is what I understand the situation to be based on the information provided to me. Since I have been Supervisor, I have never asked for any donations or favors for the Town. This may have been the way things were done in the past but that was the past. We have used (and will continue to use) Butts Concrete, as well as other local vendors, for numerous supplies, projects, equipment rental etc. and always paid the going rates for such. As far as the Town Hall project goes, the contractor who was awarded the work (based on competitive estimates) was responsible for the entire 1st phase, including concrete. It is my understanding the contractor did approach Butts Concrete (as they are at the end of the street and only makes sense) and despite these circumstances got a cheaper price from another vendor. I can only ask why the contractor would be dishonest about this as he is in business to make money so why would he pay more for product further away? Again, I am sorry for noses being out of joint regarding this project but we really are trying to do the best we can for the money. Could we have made some mistakes along the way? Yes, we are humans just like everyone else and put on our pants the same way every morning as everyone else. However, any mistakes were not intentional, there is no conspiracy, and we really are trying to serve everyone's interests as a whole. Lastly, I appreciate everything that has been done for our Town by Butts Concrete, many other vendors and countless other individuals.
July 12, 2011 01:45:56 spectator Ahh, at least Otsego made some money off from Masonville in these hard times.
July 11, 2011 22:56:06 old timer According to what I heard at numerous Town Board meetings, the building committee reported that requests for quotes did go out for the Town Hall. I think this is what Craig refers to in his post. I am sure there was no ill intent from the Board but it is easy to blame them just the same. Also, I dont see where donating in the past entitles anyone to special treatment as Butts appears to want. From my perspective I am glad they tried to do it the cheapest way possible. You can never make everyone happy, especially in a small Town!
July 11, 2011 21:22:18 bertimouse TOM'S Bicentennial Schedule: So the Historical Exhibit is open at the Church from 10am-2pm, The Parade is at 11 a.m., and the [bring a dish; "pot-luck"]Community Picnic with a Live Band behind the school starts at 1 p.m.? COOL. We'll bring our own plates/eating utensils, etc. THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN! We're guessing that NO DOGS will be allowed? Our Golden's are very cool & mellow but we can understand that rule if you've made it because of all the small children & older Folks. Whatever. See Yall next weekend!
July 11, 2011 20:55:28 bertimouse Yah too bad TOM'S ANNIVERSARY Advertising is SO LAME. FYI Yall;the Ergonomics for any ROAD SIGN should be at least 4-5" high & BRIGHT for passing motorists to be able to read. Oh well we'll just all have to spread the word FAST by Mouth now, eh? -Also noticed that TOM'S ANNIVERSARY was not posted in last week's Free Paper, either. Somebody dropped the ball there for sure but no worries here. All the more Fun For Us! :)
July 11, 2011 20:54:40 part time resident I thought the signs on the highway for the celebration are very legible. Now we know what is going on and when, all we need now is sunshine.
July 11, 2011 18:06:18 Bicentenial News The Masonville Bicentennial Celebration will be held Saturday, July 16th The day long celebration will feature a parade at 11:00 and an old-fashioned community picnic at 1:00 including music by the local favorite Sundown. An old-fashioned community picnic is planed for the afternoon on the back lawn of the former Masonville School . Bring a dish to pass and chicken halves will be available for purchase. Hot dogs will be free for children. A historical display will be set up in the Masonville Church fellowship hall with items chronicling the history of Masonville. (10 am - 2 pm)
July 11, 2011 15:45:14 LAH How is anyone suppose to know anything is going on! The signs advertising your celebration are barley noticeable!!
July 11, 2011 12:19:25 smb As someone who grew up in Masonville it would be nice if you gave some indication of what is going to be going on this weekend as you celebrate. Like what time things start and from where. As I live 2 hours and wouldn't want to miss anything. I have been checking this site, but still no information about the big celebration.
July 09, 2011 09:42:59 part time resident As a part time resident I am looking forward to the celebration in Masonville next week. I have heard there are many interesting exhibits to be on display to take us back to the "good old days" and that there should be something of interest for every age group. See you next Saturday.
July 08, 2011 21:54:05 spectator Maybe Masonville Stone could make a stone war memorial? and donate or sell at a fair price?,,,or maybe The town can buy one from one of Masonville stones many competitors,,,?without bothering to ask Masonville Stone if they would like to participate,,,?
July 08, 2011 21:49:38 spectator I could be wrong but the war memorial had no home, the man that made it wanted to donate it somewhere else in Masonville? and this is how it made its way to the grange hall? and then grange hall was donated (for a dollar?)to the town of Masonville who didn't want the grange and sold it? and the memorial was then donated by a former grange member to the VFW in Sidney? If it was, isn't a VFW a good place for a war memorial nobody else wanted,or at least spoke for before the sale of the Grange and transport of the memorial to the VFW. I'm sure the man who made the memorial would have preferred it stay in Masonville, that's where he lived and donated it,maybe his family should be asked if they mind the memorial being at the VFW.
July 08, 2011 13:44:48 Observer "Their" should be "there" --- PROOFREAD PROOFREAD PROOFREAD !!!!!!
July 08, 2011 13:32:57 Observer The November 2010 has a resolution to advertise for bids to be opened Feb. of 2011 at the library. I assume the resolution is referring to bids for the foundation to the new town hall although it is not named in the resolution. Was this published in the town's official newspaper? I do not know as it is almost impossible to get to the archives of the Walton Reporter to find out. Were invites to bid sent out to local contractors and suppliers? That I cannot say either. The Feb. 2011 minutes of the town board meeting mention two bids being received and one accepted although it does not mention who won the bid or who gave the higher bid. --- Now I realize the town board is doing its best to insure the most value for the taxpayers money. I also realize that we are very fortunate to have some people on the town board who are familiar with construction and contracting. But perhaps, in the case of the new town hall, the town board in its enthusiasm to see a new and proper edifice for the town business has become a little to close to the situation. --- As to the mentioned omissions from the minutes of the town meeting I realize the minute taker cannot possibly get every word or thought expressed and as long as human memory is relied upon their will be mistakes and omissions. I would suggest a sound system and voice recorder to insure a complete and accurate record of the meetings. Just my observations on the subject.
July 08, 2011 10:48:57 Masonville Resident the war memorial should find it's way back to Masonville where it belongs ! The library is where it should be.
July 08, 2011 10:33:34 Kathy Butts Lent Contrary to what anyone may think, I have not participated in any of the previous messages on this board. I however NOW am going to say, for the record, that Butts Concrete was NOT sent any drawings, nor were we asked for our input or assistance, or quotes on anything for the Town of Masonville Project. Had we been asked, I know that I would have donated as much as I could have to benefit my home town just as my father did in the past.I personally am hurt that we were not asked to be involved,we were not even asked to donate anything, which is usually the only time our services are requested and always granted. Instead, I sit in my office and watch our competition pouring load after load of redimix for our Town Hall. I have had people CALL me and ask if we are still in business because they drove by and saw it was not us pouring concrete. To me, its a slap in the face that the town I have been a part of my whole life, paid taxes in, donated things to doesnt even care to ask us if we would like to quote a job at the end of our street. And then, untrue things are being said regarding this whole situation. I am disheartened at the lack of loyality in todays society and how people will just say anything to pacify others even if it is not the truth. I was raised to "always tell the truth, its easier to remember" as quoted on the benches at the LIBRARY which was DONATED to the TOWN of MASONILLE....BY THE BUTTS FAMILY and BUTTS COMPANIES. Furthermore, my husband and I did attend the May board meeting and had floor time and offered to put the War memorial stone at the Library and THAT was not even aknowledged in the minutes. Its a wonderful thing to be invisible...
July 07, 2011 21:55:23 Grumpy Ernst Keidel Bye bye Nammy! As many of you know by now, my niece Namkyung, living with us for about three and a half years, has graduated high school and has returned to Seoul, South Korea. Of course, I am having a hard time adjusting to this empty spot in our family. Nammy has been gone for about twelve days now; her parents came here and took her back to Seoul. I got so used to having this lovely young woman around, I sometimes think that "Nammy can do this for us, later" but of course she can't! Yeah, I'm hacing a hard time with this. The current edition of the Tri-Town News doesn't help. Nammy is in the front page picture of the TOP 20 GRADUATES of Sidney High Schhol I think I'll call her tomorrow morning just to hear her sweet voice!
July 07, 2011 20:44:35 Craig DuMond When you are spending other people\'s money it only seems fitting it is done the cheapest way possible. Local contractors and businesses were encouraged to submit estimates for all work to be completed; to include being sent complete drawings, specs, etc. As a 3rd generation town resident I fully agree with trying to keep business within the \"family\", however, as elected officials we took an oath to comply with all laws, rules, etc to including always spending taxpayer money the cheapest way possible....simply, any other way is not an option.
July 07, 2011 14:17:14 Mormon Hollow Farm Anyone who has any items they would like to display at the church for the bicentennial celebration on July 16 we will gladly make a place for you to display them. Also if you have any pictures or news items from the past that you would like to donate to the Historical group for the 16th, they will later be on display at the new town hall when that is finished. If anyone needs something picked up, feel free to call Jeri at 265-3769 and I can make arrangements. Thank you all for your support of this very special event. .
July 06, 2011 22:30:20 spectator good to know the sign was from donations, now I like the looks of it,I give thanks to those who donated.
July 06, 2011 21:41:24 Robin Church Little Tomorrow from 1-3 pm I will be at the church to copy pictures if anyone has pictures from around town years past they would like to share; the copies will be on display at the church on th 16th for the bicentennial and then put with the towns history. I will also be at the church on tuesday from 6-8 pm to copy pictures.
July 06, 2011 15:51:25 Masonville Resident the new sign at the fire department was paid for by donations and seems to be a very nice attraction to our town. seems to be a very nice way to announce upcoming events such as the Bicentennial celebration and other local events. Maybe we all should be happy that someone in our town wants to make improvements and not complain about everything.
July 06, 2011 07:51:07 Curious I am far from an expert also, but I would assume that the materials were not out for bid as I'm sure that had local suppliers been asked to provide for the town hall, they would have come in at a lower price than a company farther away. It's just discouraging to see. I've done some home improvement projects and used local companies and had nothing but fair prices, and Otsego sure couldn't touch the price of Butts with them this close. Just doesn't seem right.
July 06, 2011 00:06:55 spectator Where did the new masonville fire department sign come from, taxpayers or private donations! We didn't need it, everybody knows what time it is!
July 06, 2011 00:01:34 spectator This is why CHINA owns our country!
July 05, 2011 14:40:02 Observer While I am no expert on any of the doings of the town I would assume that legally work and materials had to be put out to bid and they would have to accept the lowest bidder that fulfilled the requirements of the bid. Apparently local material suppliers and contractors did not bid low enough.
July 05, 2011 13:12:42 Curious Why is Otsego Ready Mix pouring concrete at the site of the new town sheds when there is a concrete plant right down the street? And why is there somebody working there that doesn't appear to be from the surrounding area when we have a number of good and fair priced contractors? What happened to the days of keeping business local and giving business to those in the community? The days of logic and any bit of common sense are apparently long gone.

July 01, 2011 10:51:18 Observer I read a news article in which it was reported that a fellow was struck in the head by an errant golf ball and while examining him for injuries a potential deadly tumor was discovered. Now the incredible part of that story is not the discovery of the potential problem while looking for injury but rather the fact that it was even reported or noted seeing as the doctor was not being paid to look for a tumor. Bet the hospital chewed him out.
June 29, 2011 12:20:27 Grumpy Ernst Keidel I have struck the South Korean flag on my Steam Mill Road property. My beautiful niece Namkyung has left with her parents to return to Seoul. After three and a half years of having her live with us as a daughter, this represents a real period of adjustment for us! I am glad she had a good High School experience here and am sure the many friends she made will miss her as much as I do. So very proud of her I was when she collected honor after honor, to include a Varsity letter for tennis. We are reclaiming the bedroom she occupied and much wall space, up to now filled with many award certificates. I think I will experience withdrawal symptoms for a long time! Hmm, I guess I'll be even grumpier.
June 29, 2011 12:18:41 local has anyone contacted NYSDOT about the condition of Rt 206 if not the number for DOT in Binghamton is 721-8082 maybe it will do more good to call there, obviously calling Hancock does no good.

June 29, 2011 09:53:11 resident masonviller: the town road crew are a bunch of idiots, why? Did they do something to really upset you or are you just having a bad day and need someone to blame? If you keep busy enough you probably would not care what others do!

June 27, 2011 13:05:30 Observer Curious George - I do not know if they have started counting dogs yet but normally they will come to your residence and ask if you have a dog and how many. They do it so they will know the dog population of the town. Knowing the dog population. How many, what sex, neutered or not can be checked against the number of licenses issued in the town thus knowing how many unlicensed dogs there may be. Hope this answers your questions. CC They will count only the coyotes that you bring in alive LOL. Note: The state no longer controls the dogs licenses it has been turned over to the localities. The localities set license fees and enforce.
June 27, 2011 12:34:21 curious george Dog Lover you are no help. Thanks, but not. Does anybody know if they started the dog census? What is it for and how will they go about doing it? Only people who who acually know somthing answer this time please.
June 27, 2011 11:43:56 CC Will Coyotes be counted too?
June 27, 2011 08:35:48 dog lover dog census: counting the number of dogs and their location in Masonville so the town clerk will know how many dogs each household owns. This will be used to determine how many dog licenses will be sold. Can not imagine buying more than one license for the price we will now be paying and some people have multiple dogs, can you really love and care for lots of dogs and let them enjoy hours of running outside each day ? (with supervision , of course.)
June 27, 2011 06:59:26 Curious George Did they start the dog census yet? How will they go about and whats it for?

June 27, 2011 00:21:11 Not against ga ys just ga y marriage You say we cant stop or change it,but do we have to be FORCED to like it. If you asked myself that question I'D say I wouldn't like it but it is what it is,deal with it.I've met a few ga y people and all of them were very respectful good people, hard to dislike someone just for their sex ual orientation. This is a free country do as you want. I still disagree with ga y marriage and polygamy or in family marriage. If you want myself to respect your thoughts on the issue it would be nice if you respected my thoughts on the issue.Their was 45 states against ga y marriage, now there is only 44 states out of 50 against ga y marriage.
June 26, 2011 20:06:19 G A Y what would you do if your son or daughter said they were *CENSORED*. what would you do if your best friends kids were *CENSORED* . what would you do if your neice or nephew were *CENSORED*.its reality now think about it .we cant stop it or change it .we all know someone that is *CENSORED* even in mv
June 26, 2011 13:42:50 Clergyman If we look past the wrongness of the State of New York determining what is and what is not sinful and if we look past the fact that in the eyes of Almighty God "same sex marriage" is a sin and never intended by the creator; we will find a more practical reason for rejecting same sex marriage. If in the eyes of the Law two men or two women claim the same rights and privileges as a heterosexual couple this would mean tremendous expense. Think of insurance alone. Couples insurance is bound to go up. It is a fact homosexuals have more medical problems than straights. Paper work on the part of employers and organizations to insure that they are treating homosexual couples the same as heterosexual couples. You can be sure that some slime ball lawyer out there will find a way of making money, probably taxpayer money, from lawsuits brought by homosexuals. There will be a myriad of things that will have to be dealt with at great expense. It was mentioned that the billed passed has a "conscience" clause. Do you think this will stop the homosexual community from suing the first time a clergyman refuse to perform a marriage ceremony for them? I really do not care what homosexuals do with their sexual apparatus (they can insert it in a meat grinder for all I care) but I do care about the erosion of morals and attack on the family unit and how this is going to affect the next generation.
June 26, 2011 13:18:33 further info Part of why the bill passed is they added a 'conscience' clause; "The bill provides protections for religious organizations that don’t want to perform or recognize same-sex marriages. It also ensures that state and local governments couldn’t penalize organizations that don’t want to solemnize *CENSORED* couples, essentially prohibiting state aid or state licenses from being stripped. The law includes a “non-severability clause” within an amendment that was crafted to provide additional exemptions for religious groups who decline to recognize same-sex couples. That clause ensures that if any part of the amendment is ruled by a court to be unconstitutional, the entire law will be thrown out." It was feared that church's could be fined or sued if they didn't want to participate (because of discrimination). Hopefully Cuomo's safeguards will prevent that and not harm religious freedom.Ga ys could marry in NY before this bill it was the state that didn't recognize the marriages. The govt. should get out of the marriage business!
June 25, 2011 12:03:33 Observer As usual NYS Senate "worked" late at night to shaft the state. LES I agree God loves everyone. BUT, God does not love the sin we commit. I am sure God does not love the eroding of the morals of this country and I am sure God does not love the out and out attacks by those who would destroy the family unit. And, our government seems to be leading that attack.
June 25, 2011 00:04:24 Les WOW talk about censoring, we can not write a persons last name like B u tts, and we can't write g ay. I guess that is the price to pay for instantaneous posts that haven't been pre read.
June 24, 2011 23:59:01 Les Nobody is perfect. And it shouldn't matter whether it is 1911 or 2011.GOD loves us all,and will judge us accordingly. It takes a higher power to judge us for our sins. I still disagree with *CENSORED* marriage, and polygamy and in family marriage. But GOD loves all his children. I heard once that "HATE is like an acid, it causes more harm to the container than those it is spewed upon." And I agree.
June 24, 2011 09:11:56 CC Why cant we all get alone? no body is perfect.
June 23, 2011 22:14:44 were *CENSORED* and here you really should worry about stuff that concerns us all. we all know people who r *CENSORED* . love is love what ever the sex . you should turn your attention to all the drugs out there and people shooting people to get drugs . just think if that was your daughter in that drug store getting your medicine and she was shot point blank for drugs .leave all the *CENSORED* alone they r people too its 2011 not 1911
June 23, 2011 13:02:23 Observer It would appear that our state legislature is going to perform its job it the usual underhanded way they do with any matter that is in the least controversial in nature. A late night behind closed doors vote. It is not too late to contact your Representative in Albany and let him know that as a citizen of New York you are not happy with the procedures used in passing laws in the State. Also let him or her know you are not happy with this State (as liberal as it is) becoming the next state to allow "same sex marriage". They very term "same sex marriage" is ungrammatical. The definition of marriage is and always has been the uniting in matrimony a "male" and a "female". What is next? The "right" to "marry" your pet?
June 21, 2011 08:59:44 taxpayer then let's get to it today and make some phone calls, I have already called and they say they have had lots of calls, but obviously not enough.
June 20, 2011 14:01:22 CC Maybe thats what they are waiting for.
June 20, 2011 11:09:51 taxpayer has anyone contacted the NYS DOT about all of the pot holes on Rt 206? Someone will get killed driving on the wrong side of the road to avoid them. Maybe the more of that call and call their attention to them will make it harder to ignore us.
June 16, 2011 09:35:24 TurkeyHunter a MV Tax Payer. I met many hunters in the area this year during the spring turkey season, all were tag holders that I seen. But, I`m not a DEC officer so I can`t speak for the agents. The DEC officer in that area is a very nice guy and knows about some complaints on a home just off shear road. Hopefully they catch those people doing the wrong thing in the near future. Good Luck on your next hunt!
June 14, 2011 10:10:24 Les berti, yes, his political career should be over. I believe how a politician lives their personal life reflects on how they are going to govern OUR lives.

June 11, 2011 22:47:52 Grumpy Ernst Keidel If any of you braved the rain today and went to Sidney to watch the Annual Hometown Day Parade, you would have seen me in my olive drab (Army color) golf car, representing Disabled American Veterans Chapter 200, as Past Commander. I didn't get too wet.
June 11, 2011 05:19:39 TurkeyHunter Spring Turkey Was Great In Masonville This Hunting Season Anyone Get Out On Shear Road And Get A Bird ??
June 10, 2011 19:24:52 Grumpy Ernst Keidel Alrighty then, enough talk about wieners and such! Last night we went to the 51st Annual Athletic Awards Night at Sidney High School. As our niece Nammy winds up her over-three-years stay with us, she picked up her Varsity Sports letter, a cerificate and a nice write-up in the programme: "...and senior Nam Kim took the league by storm." She was a part of the #2 tennis doubles team. Soon you will see the Korean flad fly again over my Steam Mill Road home. Nammy's parents are coming to take her home to Seoul, South Korea. She'll be leaving us on the 30th of June!
June 10, 2011 18:11:34 Les Oh, I see it might have been a honest mistake for someone who doesn't follow politics,(I believe everyone should it affects us all locally too!)Rep.Anthony Weiner is representative Weiner,a democrat.
June 10, 2011 18:05:52 Les bertimouse- did not you comment not to long ago that this was a local forum, and national politics should stay out of here. What does the escapades of Weiner have to do with Masonville. While I agree with you,he is a disgrace, there has been many on both sides of the isle(republican or democrat)Weiner is a disgraceful DEMOCRAT.
June 09, 2011 23:14:41 bertimouse Republican Congressman Weiner has to Resign. His discusting actions online are totally disgraceful. Not only does he Dis-Honor the Office & Priviledge of being an Elected Congressman but also his 1-1/2 year now Pregnant Wife! We wonder how much she will rake his \"lawn\" after all is said & done. In our opinion he deserves everything he gets.
June 05, 2011 16:27:11 Grumpy Ernst Keidel I do have a great photo of niece Nammy with her awards. Unfortunately, our webmaster is out of town - away from his computer. We'll have to wait to see it posted until he comes back.
June 04, 2011 13:52:07 Lynn Congrats Nammy! Education is a wonderful thing. Your Uncle Grumpy has every reason to be so proud.
June 03, 2011 22:40:24 Mad dog Any info on upcoming rabies clinic in the near future?????
June 03, 2011 08:12:37 Grumpy Ernst Keidel Time to brag about my niece again! Went to the Annual Awards Ceremony at Sidney High School, last night. Our Nammy picked up quite a few. Aside from three award certificates, she picked up a medal, a gold graduation tassel and an award bracelet. We really are running out of wall space. Unfortunately, this venue doesn't allow me to post a link to her picture from last night. So, am I proud of our Nammy? I think you can answer that easily.
