I was talking to him he said he will be focus on shear rd,. because all these out of state hunters and all these bear and deer sightings. good luck and remember to tag your deer properly.! I hope we all dont get hassled by the rookie, he hassled me the other day, checked my tags, deer in the deer rack, checked my bow and arrow and (he gave me a few trick questions) on where i did get that deer and the WMA. he is a real pain in the *CENSORED*.
November 16, 2010 19:31:53 The thing   Some people have seen them but we can\'t explain the reason it could be anything very strange..????????
November 16, 2010 17:49:29 CC   Has anybody seen some extrange lights on Shears rd or near that area on Saturday night? For real. not kidding, not a joke.

November 16, 2010 15:10:20 CrzyFlea   The roadway that Kathy K is talking about is called Zion Hill Rd. It connects to Steam Mill Rd, in one of the state land areas of it after passing through Adkins Marsh. Camp Brace was a juvenile detention residential center for many years, housing children between the ages of 12 and 17 who had committed acts that would have been considered serious crimes if they had been tried as adults. It was closed to service almost 2 years ago because of state budget cuts.
November 16, 2010 13:15:36 MR.Marxs   Looks like is going to be a bad openning day weekend with all the rain we expect to get these few days, I guess we have to go to our local kmart and buy a pancho if we really want a cold and a nice deer if any.. atleast this rain will have the out of towners out of the area this weekend and us the locals have a crack on the deers. well, good Luck to all hunters you bear this weather we will have !
November 16, 2010 11:19:02 Cops watcher   I found a cable program that I have sort of become hooked on. "COPS". It is a great comedy! I like the beginning of each segment in the program when the Cop reads the script and says something like, " I became a cop because I like to help people out here and take the bad guy off the street." I am waiting for the one cop who does not stick to the script and truthfully says, " I became a cop because it is a fairly cushy job with adequate pay and good benefits. It also feeds my ego to run around in the duded up car with lights and siren and armed to the teeth. I like the feeling of power and superiority it gives me to be able to push the peons around with impunity. As to getting the bad guy off the street; everyone except cops, are scumbags that just have not been caught yet." If you have not watched "COPS" I recommend it for the amusement.
November 16, 2010 09:45:31 Kathy K   It's the street just after the golf course on the left going south on 8. I mentioned Shears Road because everyone seems to know where it is. Richard died in a motor vehicle accident on Shears Rd. Very sad.
November 16, 2010 08:32:31 neighbor   KatyK. Thanks,. You talking about the stateland parking area just after the ice cream shop and the golf course.on the left hand side going south on rt 8. across the street from the nursing home or somethere,.. ??? or the street just after the golf course on the left going south on 8. also anybody knows about that ricky who died on shears rd a few years back. was that an hunting accident or something ??
November 15, 2010 21:53:55 Kathy K   Hi Neighbor! Going south on Rt 8, when you get to where Shears Rd meets Route 8, just go a little further south on Rt 8 until you get to the road on state land that goes east (left turn). If you park along that state land road close to where it intersects with Route 8 and then walk south through the state land (parallel to Rt 8) you will find a few old apple trees and stone ruins. If I recall correctly, there are 2 stone ruins there, pretty close to each other, so I'm not sure which is the house (one might be the barn). This old homestead is very close to Route 8. Camp Brace (now closed) is across the street and Mrs. Pangburn is buried there. There is also a family cemetery in Upper Barbourville, on state land just off of Barbour Brook Rd. That one is in Deposit. It is completely buried by leaves and forest debris. No one can seem to tell me exactly who is buried there, so if you're looking for long lost relatives, this might be the place. The only lead I've got is that it may be the Green family cemetery.
November 15, 2010 21:32:53 The Neighbor.   Kathy K. Where is the camp off Shear Road.. How far up Shear Road by the cross roads, or by the druggie area, or down to pondersoa camp ??? Never heard a such name of a camp off shear road.. seen others like Pondersoa ,LEE, City Island, La Roca , Gills, Etc,. Let me know so I can Go Over there, To check it out.. By the way seen a nice 9/10 pointer cross shear rd by the state land enterance with a few does. nice size deers. 190 ,plus weight
November 15, 2010 20:50:06 206r   Maybe at 3:00am when you're not keeping close track of the goats???? The hound dog is keeping track of them for you ???? :)
November 15, 2010 19:45:54 Ivanhoe   Just let John or Gerry(When he is up from LI) know when the goats are out, and where they are. They are pretty good about coming to get them. We don't mind them, we keep a close eye on them though. There is plans on getting rid of them, and the fence will be fixed asap. BTW Who has the hound dog up on 206?? It wakes a few of us up, down here about 3 in the morning. Thank you!!
November 15, 2010 10:06:49 Dianne VV   Thanks CJ, I don't know who lives there or have a # thats why I called the ACO. I chased them back down the neighbors lawn with my van and horn to a safer area, away from the highway. No Thanks on that goat meat. Ewwwww !
November 15, 2010 09:32:03 CrzyFlea   Thank you Kathy :) - by the way Dianne VV, the goats are probably from the Delmonico's - John oversees his father's hobby farm which is at the old Mott farm. Have you introduced yourself to him? If he knows his goats are ending up at your place he'll likely be happy to give you his number so if they show up you can give him a shout. The bull that disturbed the fence so that they get loose is gone and I believe he's been working on the fence again although goats are notorious for finding their way out of any fence-line.
November 15, 2010 08:59:22 CJ   Dianne VV : No Need for an a Animal Control Officer, Just Let us know in here when they are in front of your lawn or see them,. I will Personally grab them .. Thanks PS: They taste like deer, you can harvest them the same way you do with a deer but with out a licence..
November 15, 2010 07:52:24 Kathy K   From the Delaware County history website: "Mrs. McCrea hired one Pangburn and his wife to do the labor. They lived in the mansion house, with the widow. One day, during the oat harvest, Mrs. Pangburn aided in mowing away a load of oats in the loft, pitched to her by her husband from a wagon on the barn floor. Pangburn came to the house and washed his hands at the tank, then returned to the barn and soon came back in haste and reported that his wife lay on the barn floor, dead. It proved true, and it was suspected that he had murdered her. She lay near the door, behind the wagon, and several feet from it. An informal inquest was held, and a majority found that she came to her death at the hands of her husband. Great dissatisfaction and doubt still existing, a coroner, Judge Peter Pine, of Deposit, was called on, and her summoned a jury and surgeon in Tompkins, who repaired to the premises. The body was exhumed and examined. The view of the body and the evidence of the surgeon and other witnesses, and of the barn floor, etc., appeared so conclusive that the jury, without a dissenting voice, returned a verdict that the deceased Mrs. Pangburn came to her death by willful murder by her husband, by three blows on her head made by him with an ironwood flail swingle. The swingle had been found in the weeds near the barn door after the first inquest had been held and the body buried. One of the blows had broken the nose; the end of the club had passed through the eyebrow, and some of the hair was still at the end of it. The other blows were on the top and back of the head, breaking the skull, in both cases in different directions. Pangburn was indicted and tried, and, strangely, was acquitted. Soon after his discharge he went to one of the Western territories, near the Mississippi, and married there. Not long after, his second wife was found dead. He was accused of killing her, tried summarily before "Judge Lynch," condemned, and righteously hung by the people, in accordance with frontier law. His first wife was a reputable, industrious and comely woman, born of German parentage, on the Mohawk." If you go to the library, there is a local history book in the back (you can't take it out, but you can read it there) that reiterates this story. It goes on about the "mansion house" being haunted, to the point where everyone in the area could hear strange noises at night, coming out of the house. The mansion ended up abandoned and collapsed. The stone ruins are still in the woods today, in the valley below Shears Road, across the road from Camp Brace.
November 14, 2010 22:57:59 CrzyFlea   Does anyone know any ghost stories particular to the Masonville area? A friend of mine is writing a novel and has asked if I recalled any tales in the area. I remember being told a few, but I\'m sketchy on details. Spook Bridge I believe was one of the stories I also recall seeing a short run book in the farmers market that used to be by the wilcox\'s years ago. Could someone point me in the right direction to see some of these stories or share what they remember please? Thank you!
November 14, 2010 14:59:28 Dianne VV   To the animal control officer that no longer has an answering service. That would be Mr. Tiska. There is an issue with about 20 goats roaming the entire neighborhood for the past month that needs to be addressed. Could you kindly see the owner that lives on Ivanhoe ? They were up here on 206 in front of my house today. Someone is going to get hurt! Thank You
November 13, 2010 20:00:30 Aa   No bear
November 11, 2010 23:09:30 Dianne   The new church roof looks beautiful!
November 11, 2010 21:58:07 Les   Just a comment on frack you frack me.I signed the drill here drill now petition a few years ago.America needs all forms of energy exploration.Green and traditional oil, natural gas, nuclear.Given time we will become more efficient and safer with the resources we have now, while we work on "greener"wind ,solar.Haven't watched Gasland yet but have heard of the tragic consequences of natural gas drilling through regular news.Would like to thank Craig DuMond for his research behind Gasland, everybody should read his posts. It was posted a while ago but you can't miss it.I think it was almost a whole page. Its good to be informed on both sides. But it hits home when it might happen in our back yards.Forced upon us in our back yards,we won't have a choice. If there is even a slight chance of disrupting our drinking water, even if there is a chance it will a hundred years from now,NO FRACK!!I will sign a no fracking petition and if given the chance vote for a moratorium.
November 11, 2010 21:23:00 Les   Nothing but respect for veterans past and present today and every day.My flag is out and it's colors will never run.Thank you vets everywhere.
November 11, 2010 18:59:01 CC   Mr.Keidel,I salute you and all Vets on this day.
November 11, 2010 18:54:55 Grumpy Ernst Keidel CDR.Keidel@gmail.com Not to change the subject too much, but today was (still is) Veterans Day. Went to Oneonta to attend a formal flag burning in the park. You may have noticed two new US flags around Masonville. This past week, I have replaced the flags at the Masonville General Store and the Town Hall. I did this under the auspices of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 200, of which I am the immediate past commander. Go to (WWW) DAV200.org and scroll down to the flag. Click and read about our flag committee.
November 11, 2010 18:27:19 TX   Reaper maybe you learn some from him,go into the woods with him, share a soda pop with him and the Rag head .LOL LOL!!!!

November 11, 2010 17:42:25 tim   Reaper, you should approach this guy and shake his hand,he might not be such a bad guy after all
November 11, 2010 17:39:33 CC   Someone please invite the monkey (the judge) to this forum , so that we get the story on why he does what he does, maybe he got good reasons for it, lets wait before jumping into ideas.anyway he is going to be making his rounds up/down on Shears rd on opening day,we will see him there.Good Luck to all and dont let the monkey kick you out.
November 11, 2010 17:29:44 Observer   CC - I will have to honestly say that with all the time I have spent up in that area I have never had occasion to run into this fellow being referred too. Only once did I have a conversation with anyone and that was an older fellow in a pickup sitting along the road. He was friendly and did not seem to be out to cause anyone any grief. Then again I am not hunting with a gun so that might be the reason I have not had any contact with this fellow. It is sad that someone has this reputation. Seems like there is enough problems in this world without adding too them. After all I have to contend with the Masonville Bunny eating my wife's flowers! LOL
November 11, 2010 17:24:05 PDW   Reaper: Why dont you go hide under a rock you freaken rag head , and stay out shear rd,. This form was a nice form until you started to write nasty thing about my friend lee. We Need more people like LEE in this rea to keep your *CENSORED* out of this area who starts trouble.. I know state lands is for the public but please take care of it and not take advantage.
November 11, 2010 17:21:44 Observer   I was on Shear Road this afternoon with my camera and at the kids area a small bear ran across the road in front of me and down the trail. I pulled into the kid area and waited around for about an hour in hopes of seeing him again so I could get a picture but he never showed himself again. Just below that spot in the open field there was a 4 point buck laying in the brush. I did get a picture of him (or at least his head). Down by the four corners I saw a slew of turkeys in the old cut area. Love that area for camera : ) REAPER PLEASE be careful on the board. Mr Keidel Will close again and I fear he would not reopen it.
November 11, 2010 17:14:11 CC   Observer,I agree with you 200% and thats the issue that the Reaper is bringing up and also I agree with him, still we have hear from the judge, wish he was on this forum ,to hear his side. If someone here knows him ,please tell him to join us in this forum
November 11, 2010 17:02:19 The Reaper   PDW ( Pretty Dumb WhiteGuy ) pull your head out of your backside and think before you speak bro. Those lands are STATE LANDS meaning we all have the right to use them. But, use them in a legal manner and don`t bother people because you think you have some sort of entitlement. YOU... Even YOU.... JACKASS have the right to use those acres....As for my nerve, YOU WANT TO TEST THEM??????????????? People like you are whats wrong in this world INBREEDING IS NOT A GOOD THING BRO.....Please Stop The Cycle !!!! :)
November 11, 2010 11:35:00 Observer   So called state forests belong to the people of the State Of New York and is for public use within the boundaries of the law applying to that piece of land. As to "kicking" a person out of a public forest; I am not sure that is possible. We have the right and obligation to report any infractions of the law but to take that law into our own hands is probably not advisable. As the rules and regulations are not uniform when it comes to the allowed use of state owned forests one would have to have a working knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to the piece of forest one was trying to remove another from. For instance some state land is open to camping etc., other state land camping is banned and the list goes on and on. Can any one or group of persons claim an area of state forest as "their hunting area"? No, I doubt they could but other hunters might recognize that "Joe hunts this area so lets move on to another area not hunted by Joe". It is great that anyone watches our state forests but lets leave enforcement up to those who are trained and paid to enforce. Shear Road is a lovely area and I spend quite a few very nice hours with my camera in that area. But I do not claim it as my own.
November 11, 2010 10:14:40 CC   Problem here is that he kicks everybody out of the area,he does not owns the State Forest,we the people of New York own it,if a shot is fired in the woods he has to run and check ,who is upthere and what was shot at,what the HELL HE CARES.Am beginning to think that reaper is right ,that this monkey is shooting game ilegally.
November 11, 2010 09:41:28 PDW   Oh Well ,......I guess Reaper doesnt have the guts to shake lee's hand when he see hims, he shall be greatful that we have ole mayor lee watching our shear rd enterance to our beautiful state forest.. Thank You LEE for being there and Kicking people out which is not supposed to be there !
November 11, 2010 08:54:27 Grumpy Ernst Keidel CDR.Keidel@gmail.com Frack me? FRACK YOU!! The subject of natural gas fracking and the pros and cons thereof has been a topic at many past town council meetings. Tonight on the TV show CSI it is the subject and its impact on a small town. This may be of interest for our community.
November 10, 2010 18:34:06 tim   I have hear all kind of story about this monkey (the mayor)never met him, cant be that bad sa some of you said ,i guest
November 10, 2010 10:40:34 Observer   WHOA!! Did not know I had a fan club on here. Like the fellow who was being ridden out of town on a rail said, "Were it not for the honor of the thing I would be upset." I am sorry TM but those initials mean nothing to me. If you will send me your name and address I would be happy to send you an 8 X 10 autographed glossy :)
November 09, 2010 22:59:06 THE REAPER   Good Negibor, Thanks for the friendly advise. I know what you stated is all truths because, I know a person he did some stuff too. When I had my encounter with (The Mayor) as I call him, I don`t use names. He tried the strongarm approach with me, threatening me and telling me he`s gonna do this and he`s gonna do that. Not knowing me, most people know better to confront me like that but, (Stupid Is As Stupid Does) AND yes I know about the quad thing, thats because The Mayors a lowlife so, the local PD gives him a pass which is total Bull. So, without making this a super long post, I flipped out on (The Mayor) and told him that I had seen him doing some bad things in the field and being a hunting guide, I suggested he not push any issues with me....Not in those words but, you get my drift. He has seen me scouting over the last month or so and stays clear of me now but, I know his M.O. but, he really has no clue where I am up there and where my spots are so, I Know he can`t do those nasty traps on me like he`s done to others. We are past the sit downs. On a lighter note: Thanks for the heads up on animal sightings, I came across the Masonville Bear 3 weeks ago in the dark and he`s not the monster I`ve been reading about on here but, the boar is over 400 lbs. I have lso aseen many deer in the area and LOTS of turkeys too. The Coyotes are out of control off shear road and I`ve dropped 3 in the last 2 1/2 months and anytime THE REAPER can help out the yearlings and other woodland creatures I`m glad to help out...LOL You be safe out there and good luck on your next hunt or nature walk !!
November 09, 2010 22:53:33 Les   Hey seriously BIG DEER AND BEAR killing drives on shears rd.
November 09, 2010 22:51:26 tim   You guys r just a bunch of A/Hs , just stupid.
November 09, 2010 22:43:20 Les   There is a lot of local red neck stupids in the area.\"Stupid is as stupid does\"Sounds like there is lots of them on this forum.Guess I\'m one of them.I\'m new to this forum but have read it for a while being I have lived here all of my life. And my family in NY since the 1600s,we were one of the first in America after the pilgrims.I think me and my friends are going to settle this controversy, thunk um trunk um browns down kill i\'m all.Half of us have doe tags all of us have EVIL BEAR tags BIG DRIVES and decimation in store for shear road.Maybe in a few years our fellow locals on shear road will remember way back when they had good hunting there.Iv\'e disagreed with observer in my posts but to call him stupid is not only off the mark but disrespectful and doesn\'t belong on this forum.
November 09, 2010 22:04:27 Good Negibor   Reaper: I sugguest that if you have a problem with " the mayor of shear rd." Lee.. next time you are up there on shear rd, and see his red pick up, you shall stop him and invite him to coffee @ the local Masonville gen. store,. or to MCDee's .. and discuss your issuses , I will tell u something,.. this guy lee, if you dont calm him down with you, he will make your hunting time the worst in years.. I haved heard of stories which he inplanted bait areas and then call the DEC, more,,.. this ole man has nothing to do,.. I tell u what,. he is the ONLY one who is allowed to ride an ATV in that area,. I dont know why ?? but IT IS.. All of his neighbors hates him,. BEaware that he is a back stabber. and a big mouth.. just got town and ask about lee. By the way,.. Was bow hunting and saw a few good bucks, and does,. out of range would never come in close,. they were by 1oo yards out and went to private land,.by the state land ,. Seen nice bear poop ! and tracks and scrapes by the pine trees and on the 2 nd ridge.. he is still messing, found a dead deer bones in there too, looks like either the bear or yotes, also some horse tracks,. also seen a un marked SUV looks like a DEC truck passing bye,. and stopping by the pondersoa camp, and they came out and walked in to state land ???? also last report , seen lots of turkeys roaming around the fields , and seen a couple trukeys volchers too,. had a great day in the woods !
November 09, 2010 18:03:31 TM   Hay Jp don't listen to that moron observr. He is just local redneck stupid
November 09, 2010 17:23:13 TX   JP,there is abrochure at park entrance that tells the hunting areas within the park, good luck.
November 09, 2010 14:33:01 Observer   JP - Unless I am mistaken. (I have been once or twice that I recall in my lifetime) There is no hunting of any type allowed within the park boundaries. Years ago before it became a park I did some hunting in that area.
November 09, 2010 06:59:18 JP   Question??? Can you go hunting at the state park off rt 20 just off shears rd ??? with an rifle ? also how good isit ?? pleasse advise,. thanks,.
November 09, 2010 02:25:13 Les   Wow I forgot Carroll hill,Johnny brook,Barbour brook,Dry brook,Zion hill, WOW there can't possibly be more!?
November 09, 2010 02:13:08 Les   With tens of thousands of acres of state land surrounding Masonville it's funny that people get bent out of shape when someone encroaches on their favorite happy hunting grounds.I myself would get bored hunting the same tree stand year after year.Iv'e hunted from the Artic off from shears road to Oquaga past Steam mill around Mormon hollow over Pine hill back to Beals around Aikens, and still didn't hit it all.Bunch of whine as ses don't like city hunters and then cry cause nobody is moving the deer. And I thought the only other mayor in Masonville was the mayor of Ivanhoe!
November 08, 2010 22:09:00 TX   Dont know which one is worst, lol lol lol
November 08, 2010 20:53:29 JP   Atleast we are talking about a red neck, who lived locally not about the NC Rag Head...
November 08, 2010 19:09:40 wshbown   does any one know about a lake or pond with great bass on shear rd or near it
November 08, 2010 18:11:51 TX   Winter,Spring,Summer or Fall,Youve got a freind LOL
November 08, 2010 16:22:24 JP   LOL,LOL... Reaper, Leave poor lee alone,. he is a lonely ole man, that he needs to talk/ bitch at some one, just go over there and have some coffee and if you guys are ex marines/ or army. you can talk about when you were in the services, serving this beautiful country we live at. USA ! He needs a friend,..
November 08, 2010 15:35:25 The Reaper   TX....I never storm / I discuss !!! LOL
November 08, 2010 15:33:22 The Reaper   Observer, Thanks for understanding my point. I also understand your post, the only problem I have is the hand shake part after a person like that acts the way he does. For you it works and God Bless You !! For me I have a hardtime with being nice to people that are`nt nice maybe when i get a little older I`ll try it but at 47 it`s not working yet...LOL Till The Next Post Remember A Firearm Should Be Considered A Fighting Weapon First. Any Other Use Should Be Considered A Bonus !!
November 08, 2010 13:09:41 Observer   JP I feel it only right that I clarify my statement about the magic growth hormone. You see, it is not generally available and all that I had is now gone. Back years ago my father had a still in the hollow above the farm where he would run off a few gallons of mule for medicinal purposes. Well, it seems one batch was not the usual. He dumped the mash after the run in the field up there and the deer got into it. Biggest deer that year you ever saw. One of them fed our family of five for the winter. It did have some drawbacks though. We had some big Belgian mares in the field up there and that year we had 3 colts born with antlers. Pretty near destroyed some good work horses giving birth that year. The colts were not much good as draft horses but they were great conversation pieces. Try as he might my father was never able to duplicate that batch of mule but, with foresight I did scoop up what I could of that mash and kept it all these years. But, alas I used all of it up this summer growing a big buck for some lucky hunter on Shear Road this deer season.
November 08, 2010 12:23:51 Observer   JP - Yes there IS a Boone and Crockett record buck on Shear road area. I have been feeding a buck up there my magic growth hormone all summer. You know that big bear they are reporting up there? Well, it is not a bear at all. It is a woodchuck that got into my magic growth hormone !!
November 08, 2010 11:53:54 JP   A B&C Buck in Shear Road...Come on, guys,... Now how about the evil masonville bear,. any one saw him lately..?
November 08, 2010 11:50:59 Observer   TX - No storm from me!! LOL Just an observation besides I am afraid that someone will set that Masonville Bear on me!! I have enough problems with the Masonville Bunny !!
November 08, 2010 11:48:15 Observer   Reaper - As you asked the question; yes, I would extend my hand to such a person or any person. It would be up to them to accept or reject my offer of friendship. Over the years I have known several persons such as you describe this man. They think that because they "own" a little they can claim a lot. Little do they realize that their "ownership" at best, is a very brief and fleeting thing. His possession of his "little" is much to brief to antagonize those around him. Someone, perhaps, should point out to him that his "ownership" is nothing more than a loan. If he stops paying the taxes on the property that perceived ownership will come to a halt. LOL As to him committing some sort of misdeed perhaps that was the time to confront him with his hypocritical actions? PS - Good luck with the hunt. Hope you get a real Boone and Crockett record.
November 08, 2010 11:32:10 TX   Whay about the Bear?
November 08, 2010 11:31:14 TX   OH OH!I see a storm in the Horizon.Calm down fellows
November 08, 2010 10:49:18 The Reaper   Observer...I don`t say he dislikes hunters and if you read my post it did`nt even state that. It did state that a land owner in the area believes he owns all the State Lands in and around Shear Road. The post also stated that this Mayor, as I will call him also calls local law enforcement JUST TO HASSLE law abiding hunters into not returning....So, he and his ego can have it all !!! Do you believe this is fair ? Do you believe one should go out of there ways to try and befriend such a person? I also stated that a person without mentioning names and maybe if you looked not so hard into my post was infact observed doing what no hunter should do. But, this is the same whistle blower calling on good people for the sack of CONTROLLING AN AREA HE DOES`NT CONTROL OR OWN. I`m all for living in a world of hugs and kisses but, would you extend your hand to such a person ?? That Is The Question !!
November 08, 2010 10:05:28 Observer   RE: The "Mayor of Shear Road". Has anyone taken the time to find out why this fellow dislikes hunters so much? Is it a case where he has had a bad experience with a thoughtless hunter? Perhaps it is a lack of education as to the need to control deer herds by selective harvesting? I do a bit of hunting up in that area with a camera and have not met this fellow, at least knowingly. I did have a very friendly conversation with a fellow in a pickup truck up in that area this fall. But he did not seem to be out to cause any problems with anyone. Perhaps if you took the time to get to know this gentleman and make an attempt at friendship you might find him totally different than he is being portrayed on this discussion board. I was raised in this general area many years ago. During that time I observed all sorts of "hunters" good and bad; but as a group hunters are normally considerate sports minded people. When one does run into the occasional surly land owner perhaps going out of our way to please him and win his friendship and confidence is the route to take.
November 08, 2010 08:40:27 The Reaper   I did`nt think there was a need to explain my post...LOL...If you live up there and hunt around Shear Road YOU WILL SEE THE MAYOR DOING DRIVE BYES ALL THE TIME!!! I`ll tell ya a funny, I was camo`ed out in one of my spots and as I was glassing the area I noticed someone, without mentioning any names on here doing bad things last year!! What I find FUNNY is: I`m told by local law enforcement and people that live in the area that this same person calls on people all the time even, if THEY ARE LEGALLY HUNTING....WTF !! Now, if someones up to no good, PLEASE drop that dime that`s what we are all supposed to do but, to call just cause you think you own the whole area and all you own is a small plot....That`s *CENSORED* !! So, this means you now wasted the tax payers monies, time that, that officer and patrol unit could have been responding to a real call and WHY...Because you think you run the show in and around an area known as SHEAR ROAD !! What A Jerk !! Good Luck Hunting Boy`s & Gal`s and remember if you run into the Mayor, Tell him to F / OFF he`s more bark / then bite........ I KNOW !!
November 08, 2010 08:01:57 JP   TX, I guess the reaper is talking about mthe \" mayor of Shear Rd.\" LEE ... IS a BIG AH..
November 08, 2010 07:57:47 TX   Saw the Mayor in the woods?thats weird.he is supposed to be in town hall
November 06, 2010 06:44:15 The Reaper   Can`t wait for Opening Day !! Might even run into the Mayor again while I`m up there !! Good Luck To Everyone & Remember.... A Firearm Should Be Considered A Fighting Weapon First. Any Other Use Should Be Considered A Bonus !!

November 04, 2010 13:45:28 TX   Observer,I salute you,just hit it on the head >
November 04, 2010 13:08:44 Observer   Well, the voting public seems to have done a fairly good job in cleaning our the cesspools called congress and state houses. With the expected exception of New York State. New York State already has the best that crooked money can buy. Our gubernatorial election reminds me of the condemned man being asked to choose between hanging and shooting. All amounts to the same thing. We are going from blind and stupid to just plain stupid.
November 03, 2010 08:17:29 CC   Oh my GOD!!!! here we go again ,hanging around the same area.
November 03, 2010 07:26:05 JLT   Had no work yesterday due to elections day ! so after I voted, I dedcide to go the woods and do some deer hunting , drove to shear road state land and hunted at the enterance, by the fire/emer. trail, hunted for a few hours, 4 does went in range, but I was looking for an decent buck, then 1 spike, and either a big 4 or 6 pointer went by but @ 75 yards from me chasing another 5 does ! lots of action! it was getting dark, headed down on the trail. almost by the end of the trail ( where theres a sign in/out box. there was a big black mass of a bear. eating, so I dedcide to hide until he leaves the area is getting darker by the minute! he didnt move, he was still eating, thats why he is so FAT ! but he decide to move down to private/posted property I ran to the truck, and hop in and checked my under pants and yup ! theres was a suprise there for my wife ,LOL.. This thing is huge, about 600 pounds atleast.... well no deer this time, but had a nice day while getting paid for ! who evers get this bear he WILL be in the local newspaper and at the next years' DEC maz. I promise.. also seen 2 dead yotes up by the pine trees.in the same trail..thanks GOD ! those bastards are bad and ugly !!!! Have a great peaceful day..

October 30, 2010 13:03:32 Grumpy Ernst Keidel CDR.Keidel@gmail.com I am pleased to see that, after verbiage started to get out of hand, you started to self-police. That takes the pressure off me, since I have the final responsibility for this venue. Play nice, guys. We all CAN get along! And Craig, I do indeed understand your need to attend that Basic Training graduation. I traveled to Fort Benning as well as to Fort Jackson, in different years, to witness both of my sons' graduations.

October 29, 2010 11:58:55 CC   People, stop the BS,all we are doing is getting upset for some stupid *CENSORED*,lets concentre on hunting and that it.
October 29, 2010 11:24:45 CCJR.   i agree with Aa and Ranger Danger, and CC .. this *CENSORED* shall end right now, before it gets out of hand.. this america, people have to the right to hunt, fish, any where they want to. and people has the right to drive out a car with out of state plates like NJ,PA or even North carolina. and not feel an out sidder, theres people who own property in masonville who lives in NJ,PA,NYC and even North Carloina and Florida. They are the lucky hunters who have a place which they can say that they own a piece of masonville. like some hunters out there dont have a place to hunt only state lands. or friends\'s property. so everyone lets play safe and hunt hard, and shoot straight and hunt safely in our beautiful woods of masonville. and good luck,.a nd best wishes, if anyone gets that masonville bear please post the pics.
October 29, 2010 11:05:49 RangerDanger   This is absolutely ridiculous. You all should stop this nonsense ASAP. I don't think you realize how dum and pigheaded you sound, worst of all your doing it on a public forum and giving Masonville residents a bad name. It's probably a good thing that none of you are using your real names, because the things you have said have the potential to *CENSORED* ALOT of local people off. I forsee this web forum being closed some time soon if this childish nonsense continues.
October 29, 2010 10:58:21 Aa   We are traing to fix a problem people read this an they feel bad can we just have a good hunting season and good luck to all
