April 26, 2014 06:17:42 Rich   what?, thank you very much. She is in the Masonville office on Fridays and was very helpful.
April 25, 2014 15:15:28 what?   From the delaware county chamber of commerce website;Sole Assessor, Linnea Wilson (607) 265-3221. I believe she has set hours one day a week in masonville and two days in sidney at the civic center, it looks like that is her home phone # listed so maybe she will talk to you from home.
April 25, 2014 13:03:14 Rich   Anyone know how I can get in touch with the tax assessor? I tried emailing but haven't receive a reply back and it's about a week. Thanks!
April 25, 2014 06:56:15 lets cleanup masonville   Sidney town clean up May 8 and 9. Isn't it great to see our neighboring town want to keep up a great appearance for the community, The must have a great plan in place to keep the cost down.
April 14, 2014 20:43:27 okay   ending clean up days was because of the expense of paying town workers overtime for 2 days and also because of abuse of people bring material in from out of town by our town residents. I also took 2 extra days of the crew's time to finish cleaning the yard.
April 14, 2014 15:35:39 taxpayer   Does anyone know when cleanup days are this year. The town can really use them just drive around people are not going to the dump with their trash just storing them on their property. This town needs to reinstall the cleanup days. This has to be the worst decision ever made by our board. The input they received to abolish this was apparently made by lazy people. Must have been made by that local group
April 10, 2014 12:29:05 EX Observer   All of you like good little lambs have turned in or registered your \"assault\" weapons with Coumo\'s Gestapo of course? Everyone knows you are deader when killed with an \"assault\" weapon than you would be were you killed with a \"conventional\" weapon. REPEAL NYS SAFE ACT!!!
April 09, 2014 20:14:33 Craig DuMond   Dear TOM Webmaster - Dont listen to the peanut gallery! Most folks greatly appreciate the pro-bono work you do for us...the Supervisor and Town Board certainly do!!! I am confident most of us taxpayers feel the same way!!!
April 08, 2014 13:28:30 TOM Webmaster   Three or four years ago there was a message on this board from a Town Board member asking if anyone would volunteer to maintain a Town Website. There were no takers so I agreed I would give it a try as I maintained a couple of other sites not including one of my own. At the March 2014 meeting there was discussion of the website and how poorly maintained it was. (I am not able to attend Town Board meeting as they happen on Wednesday evenings and I am not available on most Wednesday evenings.) I will state up front had I been the one choosing the Web Company I would not have chosen the one that the Town uses. It is hard to use and confusing. But, that aside. I apologize for the constant changing and updating of the site. I have not had the opportunity to work at as I would like. Health and personal responsibilities have cut into the time. To properly handle the site it should take several hours a week. I agree I have NOT been keeping up with it. This is something I plan to change now that my time is more my own. Keep in mind this is a volunteer job. I do not receive any remuneration or benefits for doing the job, In fact I would say the majority of the town and the Town Board does not even know who does it. Yes, I am certain that a professional website manager could do a much better job than I am doing but, in reality that is another expense the Town does not need. The average "professional" charges anywhere from $25 per hour of work on up to several hundred dollars per hour. I am told the national average is $75 per hour once the site is up and running. Generally there is a minimum charge regardless, that can be as much as $75 per month. So, bear with me folks. Better times are coming.
April 08, 2014 09:11:34 Out of towner Property Owner   How about Shears RD ??? is that Road still Covered with Snow and ICE ??? to the 4 ways.. ??

April 06, 2014 15:17:34 TOM Webmaster   The TOM March Meeting Minutes will be available in April as soon as they are released after the April Meeting. I have not received the official Feb. Minutes as of this date.
April 06, 2014 07:15:24 Long time resident   What's the secret everyone knows that the clerk moved into Eldred Gray old place. The question should be where do we get our hunting and fishing license's. Are do we go out of town.

April 02, 2014 18:01:03 what?   Someone put a pretty funny sign on 206 in Masonville, something like 'welcome to the moon, watch out for craters', then I saw one in Walton on 206 also. Good news! The State was out patching some of them 'craters' today!
April 01, 2014 19:41:49 Masonville Resident   wow, more snow , wind and ice and it is April 1--------------April fool, nice day and very much enjoyed.
April 01, 2014 01:28:35 what?   EX Observer, not anymore "wire tapping is illegal in all 50 states". Bush did away with any protections we had as free citizens in this used to be free country with the un'Patriot Act'. The Liberals threw a fit, but it is OK with them now that uhBama doubled down with NDAA, now they can and do tap everything, including this site, your phone, emails, cell phone, Facebook, bank transactions, what you buy at stores and when, your health records, everything, metadata, they have everything recorded. We already knew this, and it was proven when traitor Edward Snowden revealed what the NSA was doing, National Security Agency surveillance programs.
March 31, 2014 12:44:22 EX Observer   Do you have a "smart meter" installed on your house? I do. Take a look at it. You will find it is actually a "radio transmitter". It is capable of, and does, transmit a lot more to your electric utility than the amount of power you are using. It is capable of, and does, send out a complete outline of your life. Your comings and goings, how often you do certain things. It is even capable of monitoring which and where you use the most power. The list goes on and on. If you did not consent to this type of meter then send the utility a registered letter telling them to remove it from your premises and install a standard meter. I did so. The information gathered by the meter is shared with all sorts of agencies from law agencies to government officials. It is nothing more than wire tapping and wire tapping is illegal in all 50 states.
March 30, 2014 10:38:48 resident   Konfused dated March 6th is that still a rumor.
March 25, 2014 15:14:48 EX Observer   The owner of this site stated he is looking for a webmaster for the site. Actually, I am certain he can do it himself with a little effort and coaching. Save himself some money that way.

March 18, 2014 15:06:00 what?   I figured he was just drunk. You claim it was wrote by a "local" to spread "upstate vs downstate hate". Do you know this for a fact, or are you the one spreading hate yourself? I kinda wonder when you call us all "rubes" or dumb hicks.
March 18, 2014 12:08:47 DUH!   Does anyone here actually believe that that last "Richard Col*e*man" post was really written by a Wall Street guy? Anyone with a brain can see it was written to spread upstate vs downstate hate. And it was spread by a local. Maybe there are a lot of rubes here?
March 18, 2014 01:21:25 what?   We all pay land and school taxes, and not all of us have kids,,welcome to the real world Richard. Who said you didn't have a voice in the town meetings? Everybody has a voice. If your voice is like your post, then hopefully you are escorted out because my Grandmother and any children present might not like hearing that language. Boy am I glad that my NJ neighbor on one side of me, and the Long Island neighbor on the other, are very neighborly, friendly people who like our town, and not a neighbor like you. There are many people from downstate that make up our community, and they are our neighbors and we love them, they have been for many years, good neighbors. From the sounds of it, you might want to keep your dirty money and continue spending it keeping your brothers shut up for boning them when they were minors.
March 17, 2014 22:11:17 Richard Colman   As Property Owner in MV. Iand Paying Taxes here In Delaware County and Sindey School Disrtict, even tho , I dont live here in MV and My Supposed kids dosent and will not attend school here in MV or Sindey. but stil pay school taxes . I think I have a voice in the town meetings, Every one who dont think so shall f him self and go f him self and go back to his or her hole,. I have a voice and I will voice my opion. I tell u what if It wansnt for those City folks or Outter towners like my self MV willnot be in a map. MV has lots of things to offer me and my family, like fishing , hunting, relaxing , after a long week in wall street dealing and wheeling , I need some R & R. and i spent lots of money in MV. from gas from the local ctigo . to the Ice Cream Lady is shears rd and rt 8. By the way she has great ice Cream, which she has a store here in wall street,. plus all the improvements i spent I use only local guys. so Shut the f up. and leave us wall street people which has teeth and a great life going on. alone. the end you tooth less *CENSORED*. and go *CENSORED* your sister.
March 15, 2014 20:20:00 reading   x berti, why don\'t you attend meetings so you know what is going instead of asking all of these questions, which by the way are hard to understand, because of the way you write.
March 14, 2014 23:37:47 x-berti   The TOM CEO=Code Enforcement Officer for NYS.Every Town has to have them&we pay for their state training by our taxes. They have to be Certified every yr so every yr we have to keep this person certified. It is a Life&Safety position so they need to report to WE-US-THE PEOPLE who keep him certified, for doing;uh;what? Im Just Saying! OK Ill stop pestering yall 4 now.
March 14, 2014 23:31:03 x-berti   Comment on the TOM 2-2014 mtg:OK,so WHY DIDNT the tom board didnt think of installing a cheap,100 dollar, low temp thermostatic alarm to CALL A NUMBER at our local FD? Heres another question:Why is it that a representative from our local fire dept. doesnt-isnt required to attend TOM official mtgs? Also, why is it that the TOM CEO reports are not published online with the mtg report?

March 14, 2014 16:44:45 snowman   not a local, as I see it all board members care about all of the Masonoville residents
March 14, 2014 11:03:37 Not a Local   Richard the road should be clear by next weekend as we are going to be in the 30's and 40's starting today. I would recommend that you do not state that you are a out of Towner as we have 1 board member who believes that you should not have a voice in the town but you should pay taxes. Because you are not a local. She told me that. Wish you well and hope you enjoy Masonville as a whole as the people are beautiful and caring.
March 13, 2014 17:07:06 Richard Coleman   any one know shears rd is snow/ ice covered to the state land starts ??? I own property in shears rd and am an out of towner . can any one tell me. thanks Richard
March 11, 2014 13:02:49 TOM Webmaster   Sorry the official site has not been kept up. It has been due to some very pressing personal circumstances. The January and the February minutes are now on the site. Minutes cannot be posted to the site in the month of the meeting but must wait until following months meeting when they are approved by the entire board. ie. Feb minutes would be published in March.
March 11, 2014 07:50:21 Kathy Ryan   In case you haven't heard Brianne Simonds (grandaughter of Fay Sawdy) has entered a contest at She's been selected as a finalist and needs as many votes as we can give her in order to win a trip to Nashville. Contest ends Mar 12 so you can vote today and tomorrow. Just look for Brianne - she's in third place at this time. Wish I would have learned of this sooner!
March 10, 2014 20:55:53 Grumpy Ernst Keidel My apologies! Our webmaster quit and i am trying to find a new one. Until then, there won't be any additions to this site.
March 09, 2014 12:21:24 What's going on?   Any chance of seeing the town meeting minutes back on this site or the "official" site. We haven't seen any for 2014.
March 08, 2014 11:19:04 what?   I don't know?
March 08, 2014 09:18:47 long time resident   What? safe to say then that the Clerk is not moving to a different residence.
March 08, 2014 00:35:43 what?   OO'ps, I forgot, keep it political. Giffords has a 'impeach Cuomo', for his throwing the Constitution in the burn barrel, and 'Obama gets the salesmen of the year reward', posted in their store. And their prices and selection are very good, and they have some ammo.
March 08, 2014 00:15:19 what?   I buy my hunting, fishing license wherever I happen to be at the time. Sometimes at our town clerks, (she has always been available when I have stopped at her home, I never checked her hours). Didn't matter if they were mowing their lawn or eating dinner, she and her husband were very pleasant friendly people. Usually I buy it at Wally World when there is no one else there, or my favorite gun shop,Giffords in Walton. If you go to Giffords have cash or check though, only thing he accepts on license sales, he said he only makes pennies for license sales, and they cost him money if you use debit or credit.

March 02, 2014 07:22:40 old timer   I overheard people talking at the post office yesterday that the town clerk is moving. Will there be the same hours at the Clerks new residence or do I have to go to the town hall for my fishing license. Does anyone know when the hours are at the town hall.

Febuary 25, 2014 09:18:27 wondering   any board minutes for the past couple of months?
Febuary 23, 2014 01:28:40 ?   Old Fa rt, were beyond bottom, we just don't realize it yet. Do you have any free handouts? There was a article in the daily rag recently, about what George Washington would think about our country today. We are not doing good, it's sad. Hopefully American perseverance will pull us out.
Febuary 22, 2014 10:08:06 Old Fa rt   My freinds,in World History Rome and the Roman Empire looked a lot like todays United States Goverment(Empire),they had a Cesar,we have obama, they imported all from their colonies,we import more than export, they depended on the outside for all,we depent on the outside for 98% of the things we have or use. What happened to the Roman Empire could very much happen to us.we can not continue with this we are going to hit bottom so hard, that we will not go back up again, just like the Roman Empire.
Febuary 21, 2014 20:57:15 what?   Obama and the democrats just gave inexperienced, first day on the job workers a .75cent raise, soon to be almost $3three dollar raise. Three dollar raise for blipping stuff with air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter! Some of these workers just say "hi"! And if the big business democrat Unions have their way, fast food resturaunts will be seeing a $8eight dollar raise!!! What a way to buy votes, with everyone else paying for it!!
Febuary 21, 2014 19:13:17 me   Why would anyone think that the men who risk their lives in snow storms, white outs and ice storms need not be paid a decent wage ? Who do we like to see out doing the plowing, sanding and salting so we can safely drive to work and our kids are safe on the buses? Remember, we all do the work we are qualified for and hopefully enjoy, so stop complaining unless you would do their work for less money !!!!
Febuary 21, 2014 16:22:15 EX Observer   Amazes me when people think everyone but themselves are underworked and overpaid. Ever notice no one ever thinks that of themselves? Perhaps the town crew should be paid $1.00 per hour and be required to work 16 hours 6 days per week?
Febuary 21, 2014 11:03:23 me   just who is overpaid and under worked??
Febuary 20, 2014 18:03:48 what?   I think we are all getting big raises next year, thats what uhhBama and the democrats want! Minimum wage to be over $10, and the big business liberal unions are pushing for McDonalds employees to get $15. We all better get raises or we won't be able to live with the cost of everything going up. Zero net gain.
Febuary 19, 2014 05:34:20 another concerned taxpayer   Kudos for what doing their job. I have never seen anything like this praise for a bunch of over paid under worked people in my life. Let's give them another pay raise next year for plowing the snow this winter.
Febuary 18, 2014 22:06:53 ex-berti   Kudos to the TOM hwy crew,I agree. Thanks once again guys.
Febuary 17, 2014 16:38:58 konfused   But if a true taxpayer was upset then they must have a big wallet. To plow a half of an inch for garbage trucks knowing the storm would be over soon would have been a huge waste of money. My two wheel drive with fair tires made it fine before the total two inches was plowed.
Febuary 17, 2014 09:36:07 back road resident   the failure to plow back roads Saturday morning did not allow garbage pick up to take place. wonder if the roads will be covered it now
Febuary 17, 2014 09:07:38 local   Does anyone know what this .30 cent tax that the county board of supervisors just put on all cell phones on top of the 911 tax that is in place is to be used for. Most of masonville does not even have service why should we be taxed for that?
Febuary 16, 2014 08:40:56 what?   Just like all the many other seasonal roads, snowmobilers' are lovin it!

Febuary 01, 2014 23:47:17 what?   Berti, you don't need to buy Roku, you can stream Hulu and Netflix on the net for free (with their $8 subscription), Roku just adds ease and thousands of other channels for free including our own
Febuary 01, 2014 23:31:07 what?   Berti, Netflix,$7.99 a month (movies), Hulu plus(tv shows), &7.99 a month(both cartoons for kids), Roku carries both plus thousands of other free channels. I'll never watch them all for $16 a month, (Roku, $50 initial investment, nothing to pay after). My garden, 50'x50', plenty for some fresh veggies (yum), but a LOT of work. After watching 'Food Inc.' (which was surprisingly non political, they blame BOTH sides), I think I'll expand, and buy some local meat and hunt more. What they are doing to our food is despicable. I'm currently looking for some heritage Rhode Island reds, non production type, if anyone knows where I can find some, currently I'm looking at heavy postage or a long drive. Production reds do not know how to set and be chickens anymore (lost their instincts). Anyone know where to find them in NY state?
January 30, 2014 22:59:21 x bertimouse   What?Id be interested in reading some comments from some large-acreage Farmers here.I only plant 2 acres every year;with all heritage vegetable&flower seeds. Are you a large scale grower?
