July 15, 2013 11:47:18 Old Fa-rt   This is the 21 Century, roads dont need to be that bad, dirt roads in this century in USA,may be in a 3rd world country, but not here.wake up folks!!
July 14, 2013 11:08:52 Country Living   Been out of town! No I am not a board member.
July 14, 2013 08:56:03 masonville resident   Mormon Hollow was not always stoned and tar, it was like all other town roads have been at one time, dirt, dust and also mud. All roads were in worse condition than they are now and we should be pleased at how good their conditions are now and quit complaining.
July 14, 2013 08:43:53 masonville taxpayer   Roads are repaired because of their conditions not because of who lives there.
July 14, 2013 08:25:31 Mormon Hollow Farm, Jeri Brayman   Observer, Not this board member!!
July 14, 2013 07:10:50 Observer   Country Living where have you been. Are you a town board member?
July 13, 2013 16:30:09 Original Observer   What? has no clue about what is goinging on in this town he is a trouble maker. What? must be a low tax paying local.
July 13, 2013 16:09:31 Old Fa-rt   Some else, why should we pay school taxes when we dont have kids,my kids went to school a long time ago in Brooklyn.this people keep on pumping kids out and we have to pay for their school.they dont care.
July 13, 2013 16:03:59 Old Fa-rt   What? am not in TMV,you dont know me to tell me all of that.
July 13, 2013 13:57:39 What the   What has changed is that the highway supertendent does not do his job and all the roads are not being maintained at all and are taxes keep increasing his budget keeps increasing and all we are paying for is a repair shop. The town will be in trouble in a couple of years if something does not change.
July 13, 2013 12:35:28 what?   Old Fa rt, what benefits are you all the sudden not getting that were benefits to your property before you bought it? I believe nothing has changed so your taxes should stay the same, the town hasn't taken anything away since you bought the property.
July 13, 2013 12:30:07 what?   Mormon Hollow has always been tar and stone, whats changed?
July 13, 2013 12:14:12 The real Observer.   Old *CENSORED* it is apparent that you are not a local or else your road would have been fixed. You need to run for a town board position to get your road fixed just drive down Mormon Hollow. That is what you get if you are a local town board member.
July 13, 2013 11:31:47 Old Fa-rt   Then their taxes must be lower, because they are not getting all the beneficts.i guess
July 13, 2013 08:42:08 what?   There is a few roads in TOM that are dirt and the people that live on them take care of them themselves, even plowing in winter. If you are unhappy with your place, consider selling it to someone who would appreciate it more than you do, and be willing to take care of it.
July 12, 2013 18:05:49 EX Observer   Shear road was a seasonal dirt road when those who live there bought or built their places. It always has been a seasonal dirt road. They we aware it was a seasonal dirt road. They obviously wanted the privacy of a seasonal dirt road. One cannot have their cake and eat it too.
July 12, 2013 17:06:59 Old Fa-rt   Why not, those folks pay their taxes like everyone else, but have a dirt road I dont think it is fair. If in winter they want to come up here they cant,is like the town is saying dont come we dont want you,but if they dont pay their taxes, they lose the property, now do you think that is right?
July 12, 2013 12:28:44 Masonville resident   Here we go again with Shears road!
July 11, 2013 15:22:47 Old Fa-rt   When is Shears rd going to be paved,up to the top of the hill, some properties were forgoten and they pay taxes just as everyone else.
July 10, 2013 12:15:53 Who!   Country Living are you a board member would like to know. It seems you have 2 sets of standards 1 for the locals and 1 for anyone born south east of hear,
July 09, 2013 05:28:42 XXXXXX   Losers
July 08, 2013 19:44:58 what?   bertimouse writing in plain comprehensible English? Hmm,? I smell a imposter here as well. Somebody must really be board. Yet another reason to use a alias ' nom de plume'.
July 08, 2013 14:54:33 bertimouse   How come no body ever wants to use my screen name and be an imposter?
July 08, 2013 12:36:58 EX Observer   This person who signs "Observer" will no longewr be using that nom de plume.
July 08, 2013 04:53:02 Observer.   Country Living is right don't bash the highway guys they are doing well they are 3 months into working on steam miil road it looks like they maybe half way done. Hope it's done before the busses start running if not I see opening day of hunting season. Keep up the good work. What? they are all inposters on this site.
July 07, 2013 17:32:51 what?   The July 7th What? is a imposter as well.
July 07, 2013 14:56:40 Observer   Don't know how many are using this name but I have used it since the site began.
July 07, 2013 14:15:29 masonville resident   don't forget the town board meeting is this Wed. at 7:30 have any ideas to help our town, that is the time to voice them.
July 07, 2013 13:38:40 Observer   Observer how many are there
July 07, 2013 13:00:32 Observer   The July 7th question concerning whether Country Living is a member of the Town board was not by this Observer.
July 07, 2013 08:47:35 What?   Yes She is.
July 07, 2013 07:47:13 Observer   Country Living are you a memember of the town board
July 05, 2013 00:24:00 what?   Actually 206 is a state rd., there are monster potholes on 206 towards Walton and they just fixed them a year ago. If you drive these rds. every day you should know where the potholes are and negotiate around them(it doesn't require leaving your lane, just moving over a tire width), this would be especially easy on Steam Mill where you shouldn't be traveling fast anyway. People shouldn't be crying about destroying there BMW or Hummer or whatever on potholes, if they run through them every day they shouldn't be driving. I do however think they should have put up warning signs on Steam Mill last year when they repaired a spot going up the hill with what appeared to be gray shale, I almost lost control (at aprox. between 10 to 30 mph?)it was pretty snotty slippery.
July 04, 2013 12:39:48 Country living   I disagree. I think the road is better as gravel than the potholes. as far as the work being done..... how would you like to be notified? A phone call? A knock on your door? Do you live on SteamMill or just want to pass through? If it is the latter, maybe you should go around if you can not handle the construction. I kind of feel like the town guys get bashed regardless of what they do. Everyone has there own opinion on how they want to live. Either country, taking the potholes as they come or suburbia where the road is paved to your driveway. How come know one bashes the county workers for not fixing the pothole right when you get off of SteamMill on route 206 going toward town?
July 04, 2013 09:38:03 Homeowner   reading the previous comments, I would agree that the potholes on steam mill were better than the current condition. The road was to be fixed last year-the town ran out of money and it was to be a priority for this year. The more \"work\" they do the worse it gets. The road was closed with no notice to the residents. Wondering if it will ever have black top again..
July 02, 2013 05:01:04 crzyflea   agree with ya there what? - Let us all be glad we aren't our neighbors to the north. Poor Mohawk Valley! I know we feel their pain as a familiar ache. They're dealing with the sorts of things we were in this area not so many years ago.
July 01, 2013 23:44:04 what?   I'm sorry to say that grumpy, I was just joking! Your site is great! Most of the sites I post on you can wait hours or days to see if your (my) 'opinion' is posted. I've said before " A little censoring of certain words is a small price to pay for instantaneous posts"! It would probably be nice if some of our posts were about less of our opinions or politics and more about the wonderful town we live in and I have grew up in all my life. It is nice to have some rain to water our gardens, I just wish for some sun to dry them out so the veges will live.
June 30, 2013 19:44:15 Observer   Many courts have upheld the right of individuals to voice thier opinions in any way they desire on the internet. i.e. 4 letter words, insults etc. It is up to the individual site owner to allow or not allow what he or she wants. (see the disclaimers and forum rules for many sites) Fourteen years I worked online for AOL and at the time they had one of the most stringent action policies on the web. But as time went on that was relaxed to the point it is now. Anything goes. Like anywhere elese in the country if you do not attack from a personal point of view in some fashion that brings grief or damage to a person you can say almost anything. Years and years ago in printed medium it was upheld in courts that it was very difficult to prove that an individual had been harmed or damaged by slander. Like the old saying, "You have the right to take a swing at me but your right stops at the end of my nose." It would be near impossible to prove than anything said on this site in any way damaged anyone. Thus any opinion an idividual expresses concerning homosexuals would be impossible to prove it damaged any one person or groups of persons. I have had some real insults from persons posting on this site but, as the person doing the insulting does not know who I am I would be hard pressed to say it damaged me in any fashion. As far as censoring words on this site it is built into the program. Other than going into the program and editing the list it will continue to censor the words listed in the forbidden list.
June 30, 2013 16:49:31 Grumpy Ernst Keidel Oh, don\'t say that! This is my site but I am not responsible for people voicing their own opinions! However, I am also not responsible for the pre-installed censor program which disallows certain words for stupid reasons.
June 29, 2013 23:41:01 ?   WOW, this site might get sued next, it censors g ay, probably be a civil lawsuit soon.
June 29, 2013 23:38:05 what?   I'm not against whoever wants to do whatever they want to in our usetobe free country, *CENSORED* people included. But marriage is a religious ceremony, if they want the same benefits of married couples, tell the Govt. to get out of the Marriage business, tell the Govt. to stop profiting off you, *CENSORED* or heterosexual (yes the Govt. profits off 'straight couples who live together all their lives and never marry also)civil unions. What bothers me is the Liberal media 'New Yorker' portrays popular children's characters Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street as '*CENSORED*', Sesame Street denies this, they have never portrayed them to be, only friends. This is a CHILDREN'S show! Come on! Leave your (the Liberal media)politics out of children's TV shows!
June 27, 2013 22:31:14 Observer   crzyflea- What you believe is your prerogative. This is not the United States I was born into and grew up in. It has lost its first love. The country is wallowing in sin and immorality it is ruled by a bunch of sick selfish satanic rulers. As a country we have no concept of right and wrong we only see what we want to see. Many Muslim countries call us "The Great Satan". While we may not be the "Great Satan" we are certainly bending our knees to him. This country at one time made God the center of our lives. We believed in the family unit. We believed in doing what was right. All that has gone by the wayside in the name of progress and liberalism. We are lied to by our government. We are persecuted and spied on by the very people who are sworn to protect us. We lionise those who are sinful and violent and persecute those who complain about the inequality. We have reached a point where lying, cheating and immorality is looked upon as normal and ok. We kill our unborn and call it "Getting rid of a parasite or "women's rights."
June 27, 2013 19:01:35 crzyflea   I\'m sorry Observer but I think that allowing same sex marriage is a wonderful thing. Come on, think of it, *CENSORED* Wedding Registry sure sounds like a hell of a way to help the economy recover.
June 26, 2013 16:38:27 Observer   Once again the Federal government is sticking its nose into the business of the states and individuals. The US Supreme Couret was established not to make laws but determine the constitional validity of laws passed by Congress. But once again the Liberal Supreme Court has bent to the wishes of the liberal qu eers and granted full recognition to same sex marriage. This efffectivly makes the US the only country in the world run by qu eers.
June 21, 2013 08:21:53 masonville taxpayer   Summer is officially here! Enjoy!!
June 18, 2013 11:22:24 Observer   Bertimouse - Due to your use of "code" and poor sentence structure it is sometimes difficult to follow what your point is; but, I will stick by my statement that the average American is more interested in their personal comfort than in the fact their constitutional rights are being eroded away at an alarming rate. The average American is a lot more interested in "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" than they are in what the government is doing. You always think I am refering to Masonville in my postings. You seem to think Masonville is the epitome of perfection. While this community is fine it is no different than thousands of other communities across the nation. You say I am "stirring the pot" and causing discord in this little bit of heaven on earth. GOOD! You seem to think all postings on this site should be lovey-dovey and scented with roses. Well, I don't see it that way.
June 18, 2013 00:37:38 what?   I'm just stating some facts berti. You've done a lot of stirring the pot yourself berti, you're being a hypocrite. Even the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) said "Obama is worse than Bush when it comes to civil liberties"."I'm going to start provocatively ... I'm disgusted with this president" said ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romero. And that was back in 2010 before Obama went even further. You say I don't offer any solutions berti? I say look at the Constitution and elect public officials who believe in upholding the Constitution and not ones who look for ways to get around it.
June 17, 2013 23:17:42 bertimouse   Observer, which Majority of Citizens that dont care R U speaking 4?Masonville?U&What?enjoy chatting but maybe dont realize that u 2 insult, inflame & stir up the pot for us here while never offering any Solutions to Peace, which Appears To Be ur 4-Tay Just Like Any Terrorist Anywhere in this small world. All U&What?do is witch, witch, witch with a B,without EVER offering anything GOOD solutions for the rest of us Mortals to consider. What have Yall done lately to make our World better in ur own small way? If U aint part of the Solution then ur part of the Problem=Right Now.No one likes whats happening now&U Both know it.
June 17, 2013 12:47:39 Observer   What? - The scary part is that the majority of the citizens do not care as long as they have their TV and beer. Of course in the U.S.S.R it was their vodka which the government gave them as a "benefit".
June 17, 2013 12:26:34 what?   Scary isn't it. In '08 Obama campaigned claiming he was going to put an end to Bush, Cheney un'Patriot Act', NDAA, but instead resigned it and took it steps further in gutting the Constitution. Are we still a free democracy, or are we a Government run police state?
June 17, 2013 10:58:10 Observer   Soviet Union - KGB had power and authority to listen to all communications of citizen. Had the power and authority to hold citizens without charges or trial. Had the power and authority to collect all information about citizens. Had the power and authority to hold secret courts. United States - has power and authority to listen to all communications of citizen. Has the power and authority to hold citizens without charges or trial. Has the power and authority to collect all information about citizens. Has the power and authority to hold secret courts. HUMMM note any similarity?

June 12, 2013 17:41:27 Observer   Bertimouse - The Latin term Et Al (Et Alii) if that is what you are attempting use means "and others" or is it Et Alibi meaning "and elsewhere". Perhaps you would do better to stick to English? But I will say this. Damnant quod non intelligunt.
June 12, 2013 09:06:27 really?   bertimouse, could you please use a dictionary if you would like us to read your message.

June 08, 2013 21:37:23 Observer   PhantomGoogler - You are probably correct in your observations concerning the "social" gathering areas of the town. Mt. Upton has about the same gathering areas. The convenience store, A corner restaurant, two churches. But amazingly I seem to meet the most people at the post office of all places! There are some other enterprises there but not of the "social" center type. I rarely visit the post-office here as I am on a mail route. I do go into the convenience store and usually go into the library when our hours match. I have only been in the store on the corner once but I understand it is a very unique place. For many years I served as a volunteer firefighter, after retiring from a uniformed department, and EMT in several fire departments but I understand that even those traditional social gathering places are not that much anymore. I guess people are just too busy trying to make it in this world to have much social interaction with anyone. Your comment on anonymity here on the board; it probably is a good thing we remain anonymous sometimes LOL !!
June 08, 2013 18:08:07 PhantomGoogler   Observer, I can see your point. The thing I think that would be a core issue when comparing towns and the friendliness is probably the \'main street social\' factor. Apart from the church, and the library we have what, two really \'social\' friendly locations that are open on a regular basis on what we\'d call the main street portion of town. Mt Upton, how much would you say there is? More than our scant two no doubt. As the social venues have dispersed and petrified our \'home town friendliness\' has putrefied, if you\'ll excuse the play on words. We\'ve grown stagnant and the way people behave on here from behind our anonymous names just frames it out so that we can all see. Funny though, also, on the note of anonymity. Some of us get more respect from behind a screen-name than we expect we\'d garner using our real one because we are judged by who our families are, or who our friends may happen to be, or even based upon our age. Even the names we choose can influence that.
June 08, 2013 15:38:16 Observer   PhantomGoogler - Interesting simile you have there. It is amazing what modern life can be. There is a fellow I have business dealings with in a town near us, sometimes a couple times a week and have done so for about 5 years. I just found out very recently he lives here in Masonville and is practically a neighbor. The personalities of these small towns can run the gamut of downright unfriendly like Masonville to the very friendly like Mt. Upton and everything in between . I do not know why the disparity in personalities but that is what makes the world interesting. I have lived here for about 14 years and probably know 5 people. I have been doing business in Mt. Upton for about 2 years and probably know and speak to at least 75 people on the streets. It would make for an interesting study.
June 08, 2013 13:50:31 PhantomGoogler   You know, the funny thing is, that every now and then when I read the forum I get reminded of an overly large family all sat down to Thanksgiving dinner and bickering over the drumsticks, with a drunk uncle roaring on and on thinking he's making sense but everyone shakes their head knowing if he sobers up he's a good fellow but when he's had a few too many there is no shutting him up and that he'll be too proud to apologize for the behavior afterwards, a couple older members ranting about politics a handful of teenagers or young adults trying to strut their newly found educations and the kids all sitting in the living room trying to ignore the adults to watch the parade. - - - I'm sorry, but that, in a lot of ways that really is Masonville. The page here just boils it down to the bones. And I love you all, even if I don't always agree with you, because you are the people who make up the community that I know and love, despite all of us having our faults, we have our good points as well. I see the world today, and then I see the microscopic world inside our town through this board and even when you're infighting and slinging words at one another I can't help but smile. We never change, even as the world around us does. We're still what we've always been: One great big disfunctional family.
June 07, 2013 11:20:32 what?   The media and the Liberal Democrats were against Bush for trampling on the fourth amendment with warrantless wiretapping. Bush wiretapped international calls, Obama is wiretapping American calls. Bush was condemned by the Democrats for the unConstitutional NDAA that affected foreign terrorists. Obama signed NDAA and changed it to include American citizens. You can now be held with no charges,no rights,no lawyer,no trial, indefinitely by the Govt. thanks to Obama. Obama also changed NDAA to include the Govt. being able to kill American citizens if they see fit with no trial. Even the Liberal American Civil Liberties Union said "Obama is worse than Bush when it comes to civil liberties". Where is the outrage from the Democrats who wanted to impeach Bush for NDAA when Obama takes it further in gutting the Constitution? There will be none,it is OK now, he is one of theirs.
June 07, 2013 10:11:07 Observer   By the way. I would like to hear some of your thoughts re the NSA logging telephone calls and internet postings of Americans? To me it smacks of the Russian KBG. I am convinced that there is nothing this administration would not do. We are on the cusp of a complete melt down in this country.
June 07, 2013 09:51:30 Observer   This all getting very weird. I post a facetious note to this forum and someone goes completely off the wall over it. I have been accused of fomenting civil discontent. I have been called several names and accused of having no "balls" (whatever that is supposed to mean). I am accused of bashing someone I do not know or have never met because he lives on Steam Mill road and wants his road repaired. While, yes, I get a kick out of the banter here on this forum I cannot get bent out of shape over what is or is not said. Mr. Burpoe says he is involved in the politics of the town and that is great but his ranting's do not impress me or inspire me to vote for him. He posts his name and his email address and that is fine but if one prefers to remain anonymous that also is fine. There might be many reasons one prefers to remain behind a pseudonym. In my case, in this circumstance, it might be in fear of my safety. Mr. Burpoe does not sound too stable to me. It would seem to me that if one is not satisfied with the maintenance of the roads it would be wise to speak to the persons who can do something about it rather that attacking someone who has nothing to do with the town roads.
June 07, 2013 07:53:18 what?   Are you the same 'long time resident', who posts under a alias and posted "Those who do not like our roads, Slow down and before you know it the roads will be better. Remember, money is short and we do not want our taxes higher."? Dennis is hurling insults and ranting and raving (cowards and losers, pompas a$%,don't have the balls,,) and you endorse this behavior? You sound like someone who would endorse bertimouse for Highway Superintendent after she/he threatens to kill a neighbor cause her/his dog ran out in front of them. You said this site is "damaging the structure of our community"? I think you reading a little to much into it.
June 07, 2013 03:54:17 long time resident.   The only unstable people on this site are the ones who bash people and do not reveal their names. Grumpy your site causes a lot of anomosity in our community as people do not use it for what you have intended it to be. I think it would be helpful if you changed the rules of your site or dicontinue it and restart another. As I said I think it is damageing the structure of our community. It would cause a lot less problems if everyone who posted IP address came up with their post then people would be honest.Denis great points this needs to change.
June 06, 2013 23:58:16 what?   Denis, reading comprehension. For one WHAT! and what? are two different posters. I don't think I have put anybody down on this site, disagreeing is not putting them down. I said they should fix the potholes even if it is only temporary fixes, we pay taxes. Free shale doesn't cost anything, it could be shovels onto their pickup truck they don't need to use one of the fuel hogs, and shovel it into the holes.
June 06, 2013 23:56:43 what?   WOW! Denis, your starting to sound unstable, and you want me to reveal my name, how about my address also? Yeah right, bertimouse would probably like it to. I post too many comments on here and the Daily Star that have to do with politics. I work at a place where I have to belong to a union. I don't think Liberal Democrats are good for this country, or humanity in general, and I don't think unions are doing any good for our country either, they are just big business Liberal Democrat supporters.Google union violence. I would like to keep the tires on my car, and my house standing. Reveal my name? Not to you Liberal Democrats! My family and friends who read this site know who I am , and I know who Observer is, (even though I have never met him, it is easy to put two and two together), you just have to be Observant, and you would know who both of us are.
June 06, 2013 20:50:47 Observer   If Mr. Burpoe is finished hurling insults and ranting and raving I would like to let you know there will be a Second Amendment Rally in Albany on June 11, 2013. 12;00 noon until 2:00 P.M. at Capital Park West. Turn out and support our Second Amendment rights and let your voice be heard.
June 06, 2013 17:54:23 Denis Burpoe Observer I am done with you mission accomplished all you want to do is cause trouble and set the people of Masonville against each other for your personal satisfaction. We need to stay positive and help Masonville to continue to be a kind caring trusting community. It is people like you who if we continue to let you destroy the trust of the people with your rantings will be harmful to our community as a whole goodby.
June 06, 2013 15:45:57 Observer   OOOOO!!! Sound like a Democrat!!! Them thar are fighten words!! How about cream pies at 3 paces? I cannot walk much further than that. What would be the point of revealing who I am? You still would not know me.
June 06, 2013 15:33:41 Denis Burpoe Thanks for not voting for me you sound like a democrat. Still wont reveal yourself so your word have no clout. God bless and good luck.
June 06, 2013 15:05:17 Observer   I am laughing until the tears run down my cheeks! All four of them :) Someone just told me who Mr. Burpoe is. Such an attack certainly will not convince me to vote for him should he run for office again. Mr. Burpoe I could not care any less where you were born or where you live. You say I talk down to people on here. Why do you say that? Have I attacked you in any fashion? You seem to have the problem not me. I am truly sorry your road is not in the condition you feel it should be; but, attacking me or anyone else on this forum will not get the problem solved. As to me telling you to buy another vehicle I do not have the power or authority to force anyone to buy anything much less a vehicle. I merely suggested a solution to your problem. You sound like perhaps you have a problem with anger management?
June 06, 2013 13:27:01 Denis Burpoe What! reveal your self you been putting people down on this site as well.I was not born here but have been involved in this community for 30 years. I am a hard working tax payer who wants the pot holes fixed. If anyone wants to put down the taxpayers because of this and not reveal who you are in my eyes a cowards and losers lets stop this nonsence of not revealing yourselves step up be men and women. You can put me and all my friends and neighbors down who live on steam mill road but hiding behind a screen name in my eyes makes you useless to the bettorment of our community and yes my road sucks. And going to a town board meeting to try to change this is also useless.Remember there is no money.
June 06, 2013 12:35:37 Denis Burpoe Observer you are a pompas a$% you have no clue what you are talking about reveal your self if you are so rightous how dare you tell me to get another vechile when I am paying out my a@# for cars and insurance. Let everyone know who you are you coward talking down to people because they are geographicly not born in this town. come out you coward let everyone know who you are.If you don't have the balls just shut up. You are a trouble maker with nothing bettor to do with your time coward.
June 06, 2013 12:30:38 what?   I think it's pathetic people can drive on the same roads every day and claim the potholes damaged their vehicle. If you can't negotiate the potholes you shouldn't be driving, hopefully they can negotiate around our children. I only go over Steam Mill during the hunting seasons and sometimes to fish at the Reservoir, and I can miss the potholes. I do feel potholes should be fixed. We pay taxes, they could at least fix them temporary. It wouldn't take much to throw a few shovels of free shale in each hole.
June 06, 2013 11:31:39 Observer   Mr. Burpoe sir - I do not have the foggiest notion of who you are or what you are talking about. Me the elite of Masonville? Now that is funny! Mr. Burpoe I have lived in the general area for most of 77 years and was brought up on a back road that was rarely ever maintained and even less of the time plowed in the winter. I remember farmers towing the school bus from farm to farm so we could get out and go to school. So, I do know a tad about back roads. Yes at this time I do live on State Highway 206 and must say at times the potholes will rattle ones teeth. I travel many of the back roads in the area. Not because I have to but because I like to. You say you want the taxes raised 20 percent so your road can be maintained better? I really doubt you will get a grassroots movement started on that issue. As to my post: I was being factious. I am quite aware of the condition of some roads. Weather and time can play havoc with them. But, I also know that many people who live on these roads choose to live there knowing they are not 4 lane highways and then they complain about it. One cannot have the rural setting they crave and the metropolitan road care they want. Choices have to be made. As, to struts and ball joints on your vehicle I am sorry about that but I guess it means you either drive slower or buy a more rugged vehicle. I really doubt your road will ever be in the condition, (regardless of how much money is spent on it), that you want it to be.
June 06, 2013 09:35:53 Denis Burpoe Observer it sounds to me that you are the elite of Masonville. How many people live on Steam mill that were born on steam mill come on observer show your face. Whats the matter no balls? It' easy from behind the computer screen. Come on Obseerver grow up be that man or woman if you beleive in what you are saying show your hand we have a name for that in Masonville it is called a coward, does it fit.
June 06, 2013 08:59:34 Denis Burpoe Observer I know you just want to bash me because I live on steam mill road what road do you live on and who maintains your road. I bet you live on route 206 don't you.
June 06, 2013 08:00:16 Denis Burpoe Sorry I made a mistake I have been advised that I have lived on steam mill road for 26 years. Come on Observer reveal yourself.
June 06, 2013 07:09:00 denis Burpoe You
June 06, 2013 07:08:02 Denis Burpoe And by the way Observer who are yoe
June 06, 2013 07:01:00 Denis Burpoe dburpoe@yahoo. com observer what is really on your mind. I havent read this site in a while but I will tell you I have invested a lot of money in tie rod ends ball joints tires because of the condition of my road.Even our pickup truck needed to have ball joints tie rod ends and other work due to the road. They do not make vechiles the way they did 22 years ago when I first moved here. I say raise all taxes 20% fix the roads. I am putting all that money in repairs would rather give the town enough money to repair the roads all the roads in Masonville. Would love to debate this issue with any open minded ,diverse person or persons in a open minded forum. And I am not bashing anyone lets get the Highway Department more money, Lets cut out Some social sevice money we send to the county and use it in our town. Observer lets take this out to the public I would love to debate you.let me know.
June 05, 2013 16:06:12 Observer   Steam Mill Road. Isn't that the 6 lane super autobahn here in Masonville? Only to be reviled by the other great highway Shear Road? By all means keep these two great highways in prime condition for the elite of Masonville, New York City and New Jersey. What a terrible catastrophe if one of them dirtied a tire traveling one of these highways.
June 05, 2013 05:39:06 concerned   Hush are you saying that they are not stoneing the road back to where it was?
June 04, 2013 20:25:24 Hush.   Sorry if I misunderstood. So many people bash the crew I thought it was another slam. They are doing a good job trying to reclaim the road to what it was before it got paved. Sorry again.
June 04, 2013 17:59:11 long time resident   hush that was a compliment what did I say wrong. Did you not like the work? It was a compliment! the work is outstanding what didI say wrong?
June 04, 2013 15:53:35 Hush.   It is being worked on. Give them a break!! I hope they don\'t do to much more to it. Maybe it will keep the \"passing through\" complainers out!
June 04, 2013 11:31:16 long time resident.   If you want to complain about the Highway crew I cut thru steam mill road this morning, you should take a ride and see the outstanding work that they do.
June 04, 2013 08:49:41 resident   town board meeting Wed at 7:30 hope more can attend and ask some questions of our board.
June 02, 2013 02:12:18 what?   Don't miss the new documentary "District of Corruption" national television premiere on June 17, 2013 on AXS TV.It is said to document abuse of power in Washington during the Bush and Clinton administrations and Obama's. "Directed by Stephen K. Bannon, lays bare the lawless and unconstitutional Obama administration and makes the case for more openness, integrity, and honesty in government and leads the way for changing the climate of corruption that has gripped Washington, D.C. for far too long. The film exposes Obama administration scandals such as Solyndra, Fast and Furious, Crony Capitalism, Czars, and its politicized Justice Department."

May 31, 2013 12:18:48 what?   That does look like the path we as a country are heading, but I have faith that we will take a different path soon. The Liberals, the Obama administration and his supporters are doing everything they can to shut up and illegally suppress any opposition there is to their idea of expanding government, gutting the Constitution and cutting the citizens down to their knees. If you consider yourself a Patriot or publicly support the Constitution, your on Obama's 'hitlist'. A free America can only be pushed so far though, and I think your going to see some eyes opened and people waking up in the next four years. The 'low information voters' are starting to get informed.
May 30, 2013 16:39:09 Observer   Charles Dickens in his novel of the French Revolution states, "It was the best of times; it was the worst of times." I think God in His infinite wisdom saw fit to place me on this earth so I saw the "best of times" for this country. I am old enough now that I probably will not see the "worst of times" for this country. I believe that within 25 to 35 years this country will cease to exist as a democratic republic with an elected ruling body. When I was young, people were proud to be independent. Proud to make their own way rather than depending on a corrupt government to tell them what they needed and do not need. They were proud not to take a hand-out from a controlling body. The politics of this state is much worse than any politics of any Southern state in history or Chicago or even Tammany Hall. His Royal Highness and his personal Storm Troopers has decided to control the state. Corruption, influence peddling, sex crimes, buying and selling of offices and we like sheep just cluck our tongues and say "naughty, naughty". Within 25-30 years this country will be absorbed into and controlled by a world wide body. Be it the UN or not that I do not know. But, this do know, Obama is giving more and more of our country and its control to foreign powers. This country fought a revolution over a lot less abuse of power than we are experiencing today. As I stated I believe this country will cease to exist as a democratic republic and it seems the people of this country could not care less. Like sheep at a slaughter house they are being led to a certain doom. All the average citizen cares is "do I get a hand out from the government?", Does my TV and cell phone work?, and where is the beer?" We have allowed the corruption in the government and the death of morality to guide our lives. Human life has ceased to be of import.
May 29, 2013 09:00:40 life long resident   for those of you who do not live here, this message board is totally gossip and just for entertainment!!!!! Please do not judge our wonderful town and people by all of this gossip and nonsense. Masonville is a wonderful place to live and the people are great.
May 28, 2013 20:17:37 cunfused   Seems like the parade was a little shorter this year, need more participants. Town trucks looked good for fire and highway. I overheard someone say half the highway trucks were government surplus. People need to get the facts right before speaking. If the feds are getting rid of trucks like that then we need more,ha ha!!!
